Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
PhD about the artist and placemaking; keen to see more places; currently enthralled by Planet Earth; love cycling and bicycles
ABOUT ME
I enjoy moving things around and rearranging books, furniture and foodstuffs. I also enjoy getting rid of things that I don't use - this is a turnaround after being a bit of a hoarder. I envision having very little 'stuff' and being able to travel more with ease. My partner and I have six bikes between us. Four of them are mine. I like living frugally but do enjoy indulging. It's great to be organised with money so I have to work less at jobs that are not as good as cycling, reading, talking, sleeping, laughing, making, writing, painting and pottering.
PHILOSOPHY
Moderation, balance and occasional excess.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently, I have CSed in Preston... but thinking about taking it further afield.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
With friends and through CS a couple of times. Bit nervous at first but gets easier the more you do it!
Interests
I read, garden, take walks, cycle, meet up with friends, travel to visit friends. I'm cycling the London to Brighton bike ride in mid-June.

Music, Movies, and Books
Find it hard to read fiction - despite that being my partners first love, but love reading non-fiction. Loved 'Speed Racer' for it's colours, love films generally - have been watching Charlie Chaplin recently. Of course 'The Wire' I rate highly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flying a glider plane in late summer 2012; meeting my partner, Scott; watching the current series of Planet Earth; cycling down to Kent to see my grandparents in about 2005 - that we choose to do what we do.
Countries I’ve Visited
France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
