About Me
ABOUT ME
First, allow me to say that I am Irish for sure...but, I am no party animal(I am that other kind of Irish). I am also very proud to be an Australian as well. The things I like most is good company, thoughtful conversation and a bottle of red wine to share. Being in the outdoors, taking in the nature, especially in cold environments. I love to read and I enjoy a good film as well.
PHILOSOPHY
On travelling only:
I have been very fortunate enough to live at a time in history when a poor, non-social elite person could travel around the world, a fact I have tired to take advantage of.
Interests
My first love is the outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, mountaineering and mountain biking.
I am a full-time devoted reader and I am never without a book at hand. I also got a real liking for good films/HBO series'(don't knock them, they have real pedigree) and I enjoy lively conversations on any subject I can converse on.
Graphic art whether it be paintings, sculpture or mechanical machinery really appeals to me as I have no musical talent other than my heartbeat and theatrical art is a bit lost on me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books; the list is too long to fill in now, let it be said that I read a lot but I am becoming more selective as I get older as I had a realization not long ago that I have a upper limit on how many books I can actually read in my life. Hence now I am being more selective.
Movies; this is a pretty long list as well. I like all sorts really, for me it should roughly be; somebodies effort at art/expression of interest, a coherent story, artistically made or just clever in its execution. That is a very rough outline.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My bicycle trips are very important to me.
When I was a young lad I bicycled west to east across Europe and then from the northern tip of Europe to the southern tip as well. I bicycled in north Africa, eventually crossing the Sahara and making it down to the jungles of Ghana. I bicycled coast-to-coast across the US and recently down in Patagonia. These trips were the most important ones to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can always learn something new that is why I like people that are moved to a passion over something that interests them.
