About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Drop myself in new places and see how I am doing. Being my own guinea pig (A. J. Jacob's style).
ABOUT ME
I'm a 21 years old French student from Lyon, France. Currently I'm starting my PhD in Montréal, settling in a new city. I really love to travel, I love new towns, simple outdoor places, and new people. I can talk a lot if I found a connection with somebody, I can make lot of efforts to find such a connection, and I can listen somebody talking about what he/she loves.
In the daily life I try to care as much as possible, do new stuff and move around.
I have a blog about stuff I do, it's worth watching if you want to know a bit more about me: hatedriving.wordpress.com
PHILOSOPHY
It changes quite often, but right my only philosophy is to care. About what people say, my life...
Be actor of my life: " the function of a man is to live, not to exist", pretty much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
While engaging pourparlers with my roommate to welcome people here in Montreal, as a traveler I am all into making the couchsurfing more than a free bed: usually using it to travel where I don't have anything special to do, I will enjoy any kind of exchange with my host, from his favorite bakery to his most amazing "Ha-ha" moment.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just once, a girl welcomed me in Sheffield: we met in the evening, attended a show, shared a meal, a breakfast and then split up early in the morning: very enjoyable but we didn't spend much time together (only one night) and specially not exchanging about the place I had the opportunity to visit the next day.
I hope the opportunity will be seized next time!
Interests
It said to do a list of anything I'm interested in. It would be quite long but I'll try to give one or two:
- Passionate, new, adventurous people
- Nature, and particularly rivers, big trees, high cliffs
- Music and books. If I can enjoy both somewhere, it's a place I could live in ! I like new music and sensible books
- Useless talents. In a "money" way. Juggling, music, arts
- Discover new places, especially local street art
- TED conferences, and any cool talk by inspirational people
- Writing, sometimes.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: covering a wide spectrum from old school rap (Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde) to recent electro (RL Grime, Aphex Twin, DeadMau5), from IDM (Aphex Twin, Wisp) to peaceful ambient (Boards of Canada, Brian Eno), and other things (Nick Drake,Radiohead, Miles Davis, Goldie).
Movies: not watching much, nevertheless loving many, recently Laurence Anyways, Under the Skin, Human Traffic.
Books: Boris Vian, Albert Camus and Paul Auster is my top three. Side to that, Oliver Sacks, mind bending philosophy and much more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My year in England is something I can talk for ages, as well as working with kids.
Teach, Learn, Share
I will teach you basic of French, juggling, and guitare for sure.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, plenty. My awful deterministic optimism, my capacity to find thousands of stuff to be grateful for, a TED talk you will love and 10 reasons to start learning french NOW.
