ABOUT ME

We are an English-Colombian couple living in Manchester, UK. We lived in Medellin, Colombia for a couple of years and we're now in Manchester, UK. I (Laura) am a secondary school Spanish and French teacher - fabulous fun during term time and plenty of opportunities to travel during the holidays! Me (Erick) work for A bank, I always manage to have fun even in the winter cold season. I love playing football and doing outdoor sports. Apart from travelling and languages, we love Latin dancing and music, , cinema, rum, long walks, beaches, hills, chats..................

PHILOSOPHY

This is the one life that we definitely know we have, so it must be lived positively, trying to leave good vibes with everyone you meet. How you feel is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it... heard that recently and felt kinda empowered

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have had various friends/of friends and people we've met stay with us through word of mouth, and after getting to know our next door neighbours who are Couchsurfing evangelists we thought we definitely had to get involved. We hosted lots of lovely people, made lots of friends and have many brilliant memories from that time! Erick then went to Brazil for the world cup and received such a welcome from the Couchsurfing community there. Now that we're settled in Manchester, we'd like to welcome people in the same way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted Norwegians, Turks, English, Brazilians, Portuguese, French. Love meeting people from all over the world!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Historically I love reading, although it would be the top on my list of activities to do if I manage to make my time-slowing-down machine... I love such a mixture of music, but the last three albums I listened to all the way through were Hecho a Mano by Monsieur Perine, The Benny Goodman Collection and Bob Marley Legend. The last three films we watched were Identity Thief, Spy and a French one called Populaire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was amazed for three days straight at the Bolivian Salt Flats... my jaw was in a dropped state practically the whole time. I(Erick) loved the time I spent in the world cup in Brazil, travelled from North to the South of Brazil, unforgettable!
