Ciao! My name is Alviina, and I am a 21-year old artsy and frisky traveller, climate hippie, start-upper, representative in Helsinki Environmental Board and a student of International Relations who navigates in the stormy sea of politics. Join the adventure ❤

My friends know me as a bit of a crazy girl, who tends to go through with the stupidest ideas - and often gets away with it. I am kind, peace-loving, social and curious.

I like to host people and I travel quite a lot, so I always need a place to stay!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed for example in France and Cuba.

Interests

By day, my main interest is governmental security and law. In University of Helsinki, I major in peace and conflicts. I also minor in Finnish Institute of National Defense. But my hidden gift is creative writing, and by night I tend to grab my laptop and work on my novel about school shootings. As a semi-photographer, I also love Instagram, social media and looooong discussions about politics and society. It's deep man! Oh, and besides all that and travelling, I also play petanque. Even though I suck at it :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Learning to ride a horse in Cuba superwell at once, with no former experience or safety equipment. I had a horse called Mojito, who was as hot-tempered as me, so we were running all the time. I was scared shitless. But in the end, riding in this amazingly beautiful, green valley of Vinales in sunset was one of the best moments of my life and one of total freedom.

2) Accomplishments, such as getting into University or having a position of trust in municipality politics. But that's not as meaningful as all the other stuff. In my career and politics, the best moments have been those when we have managed to change the world, just a little bit.

3) Love. Just love. One special moment would have been a summer night in Venice with my boyfriend. We were quite lost in the city, stopping by to have some ice cream in the moonlight. And just experiencing, young, hungry, adventurous.
