About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to explore the world, my relationships with people and my inner boundaries.

ABOUT ME

I am an enthusiastic, easily carried away, creative and happy human being from Oslo, currently living in Trondheim (which is a bit further north than the capital of Norway).

While being here, I study towards becoming a clinical psychologist, and do it while living with my boyfriend (computer scientist), also filling my time with writing (I have currently produced a stage play (theatre), edited a book on larping and written a couple of articles), working with Girl Geek Dinner-events, and acting in the students' society theatre.

Another big part of my ("slightly" nerdy) personality is larping (live action role playing), meaning that I like pretending to be someone else together with a lot of other people doing the same thing. I try to do this as often as I possibly can, in addition to attending (roleplaying) conferences in Norway/Sweden/Denmark. Yay!

PHILOSOPHY

Smiling, being polite and nice, easy going and explorative can get you places you never thought you'd get to see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hopefully by hosting some fantastic and inspiring Couchsurfers, some time in the near future...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not been able to host a lot of surfers, as I am travelling a lot around and rarely have free time. However, I have had the pleasure of meeting up with some in Trondheim, which has been great!

Interests

Playing, larping, art (and being artsy), music, friends, being around old and new acquaintances, talking, reading, listening, learning, discovering, eating, running, laughing, hugging, sleeping, organizing, observing, and going to concerts, the theatre, the opera, or some weird performance.

Music, Movies, and Books

One great book I recently read was "Just Kids" by Patti Smith. It is a beautiful piece of art, and you should read it too!

I read a lot of fantastic books, and I have a hard time sorting them. I also listen to a lot of music, spanning from classical music and opera all the way to black metal, via experimental jazz music, electronicapop, rock and arabian - making it difficult to mention just a couple of names.. There are great music choices for every occasion and state of mind - and that is the absolute beauty of it!

I normally watch TV shows such as In Treatment, House MD, Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Girls, have a sweet spot for anything geeky, Jane Austen and vintage-related, and weird movies making me think about everything and nothing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Of travel related stuff, one of the things that really made an impact to me was when I went to Cairo, Egypt, and visited the pyramids. Speechless.
Also taking the shinkansen train from Tokyo to Kyoto, although it might sound weird, was a special experience to me. Just wrapping my head around something going that fast, was exciting.

I also ended up editing a book this year, a fantastic work containing articles about larp, written by authors from all over the world. It was exhausting, but informative, and I'm incredibly proud :)

I am easily amazed, so showing me something new always makes a huge impact on me. It is difficult to choose things that are so different!

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing that I do a lot of, is larping (meaning that I do live action role playing :)). I think it is an incredibly powerful tool, both for getting to know yourself and others, and I would absolutely love to chat about it to anyone interested!
