About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I recently accepted a PhD position in Sustainability Sciences in Sweden, so this summer my plan is to move there and get acquainted with Swedish culture and start learning the language.

ABOUT ME

Although originally from Germany, I have been residing in the Netherlands for almost 10 years. Currently, I live with my partner in a terraced house in a small town just outside Nijmegen. I always find it hard to describe myself, so why don't we meet up and you can see for yourself? ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

I think we should have respect for any kind of life. Caring for our fellow human beings, animals and our planet should be one of our main tasks in life and everyone should try his or her best to progress along this way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess climbing Mount Kenya was a truly enriching experience. Not only experiencing a surreal landscape that looked like it was on another planet, but also seeing what such an exhausting ascent does to your mind. Finally reaching the top at 5000m and seeing the sun rising above the clouds, just wow!

Hitchhiking from Canada to Mexico when I had just turned 19 was also very special. Getting to know Americans from all walks of life, hearing their stories and experiencing their kindness. It showed how incredibly diverse they are, even though we tend to paint them all with the same brush.

Teach, Learn, Share

We will always learn from others, especially those who have a different opinion from ours. Trying to keep an open mind and making an effort to understand what drives others can be challenging, but in the end you only learn from it. That's why I aim to go for the challenge whenever possible.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Gambia, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Luxembourg, Mali, Mexico, Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, Senegal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Togo, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States, Zambia
