About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to experience as much as possible, untill it will be too late for it...

ABOUT ME

Hi!
My name is Ivona and I'm 23 years old. I live with my parents and study university, but when my days off and holidays come up, I usually spend my time with travelling. I love meeting new people and getting to know new culture. When there is no opportunity to travel, I usually do various hobbies or hang out with my friends... Just anything else and active but school:) I guess I'm an opened and friendly person, who loves people and is able to talk about pretty much everything.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy your life, because it's short. But don't hurt people around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host anybody right now, because I live with my dad and that wouldn't be a great combination...:). But I can hang out anytime!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Till now only good experiences! I've stayed with CS hosts f.e. in the U.S., Germany and mostly during my travels in the Balkans last April, which was absolutely amazing and only confirmed the great benefits of the idea of CS.

I've never been an official CS host, but that doesn't mean I have zero experiences in this area. During my Erasmus in Konstanz, Germany, where I spent the whole last year, I hosted many of my friends, who came to visit me. Once even 11 of them came, which was, is and probably will always be my "hosting" record:D

Interests

I'm an active person with a lot of energy. I always need to spend some time with hobbies, no matter how busy I am with my duties. I also love trying new things, you never know, what suits you the best!
I love travelling, mostly the backpack kind of trips. My biggest travels was through the Balkans last April, and my next one will be in South America this summer, which I'm really excited about:)
I also like doing sports, it helps me to relax psychically. I like swimming, squash, jogging, biking, roller skating, skiing... I also started to dance, I already tried rock'n'roll and recently began with Lindy Hop. Well let's see, what comes next:) I'm no profesional in neither of these sports, I love the variaty and the feeling of trying something new, which gives me more than achieving any records.
I love music as well, I play guitar (used to be very good at it, but I forgot a lot unfortunately...) and I'm a huuuuge fan of movies as well. I could spend in a cinema every single day! Espacially these small-cute-art-cinemas, where you can watch a 30-years old serbian movie while having a beer or wine:)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music in general. My favourite music style is indie-rock, but I guess I am a fan of most of the "light-rock" bands. I also like some ska, rockabilly, electroswing and balkan music. I play guitar.
There are so many movies, I've seen and enjoyed, so it's hard to say, which are the best. But to my favourite directors belong for sure Darren Aronofsky, Tim Burton, A. G. Innaritu. Besides that I love movies like Vals im Bashir, Persepolis, (500) days of summer, Love actually, The Great Beauty, Wild Tales, Batman... and so on and so on. I visit regularly a movie club in an art cinema, where I can get to know plenty of different and alternative movies from the whole world.
My favourite writers are Milan Kundera, William Saroyan, Paulo Coelho and E. M. Remarque. The very very best book for me would be probably Tracy's Tiger.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm one amazing thing I've done in my life. Feels kind of hard to answer that. I could tell you many various stories about things I've seen or done, but first of all, it's hard to pick and define as "amazing" just one of them, and second, how could that one thing be possibly able to define me?
The "amazing things" I do are more likely to be those, that I try to achieve every day, that are somehow connected with my personal values. I try to help people, who I love, I try to make them smile, to be honest with them, to do the right thing in ever moment I spend with them... It might sound a bit pathetic, but since the world is not about the things, but about the company you're sharing these things with, it kind of makes sense I think:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel experiences, cultural habits, various common interests, my cooking "skills" (not so proud of them, but I'll try!!!)... It could be anything that comes up, depends on you too!
