About Me
SUMMARY:
I live in Podkowa Leśna/Brwinów, a garden-city 40 minutes ride from Warsaw. Nearby Warsaw there are 76.000 couches to surf. But if you like to wake up listening to bird singing and have breakfast in the garden, you will choose mine. :)))

MY EXPERIENCE WITH COUCHSURFING:
I am new to the community, but familliar with the concept of couchsurfing for a while. :)
In 2009 I went for my first baile funk party in Rio de Janeiro and watched the sunrise over Copacabana with a crowd of recently met couchsurfers. Great memories. :)
I've already hosted some surfers in my mother town (Podkowa Leśna/Brwinów - near Warsaw) and in Lisbon when I used to live in 2016/2017. However, I was always introduced to a surfer by a friend, so it does not reflect in my profile. :(
This year I decided to open my doors to the couchsurfers from all over the world (Come and visit my beautiful garden-city!). I am also just preparing myself for a 1-month trip to Brasil with my boyfriend (Oi galera, estou chegando!).
WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO:
I graduated fom Cultural Studies (specialization - protuguese language speaking countries), so cultural encounters are in my blood. However, since then I always worked in communication field (social media & digital agencies and now an NGO).
Most of my life I lived in Podkowa Leśna/Brwinów - a little garden city (3 500 habitants) near Warsaw, but I spent around 2,5 years in Portugal. Last time (2016/2017) I went there as an EVS (European Voluntary Service) and worked for a year in a local authorities office.
INTERESTS AND STUFF:
Nature over city
Art gallery over party
Mountains over beach
Vegies over sweets (I don't eat meat, but I will have a fish/seafood from time to time
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For the ethical and philosophical reasons...
Travelling for me is about breaking stereotypes, seeing world from another perspective, becoming more understanding. It requires deep and meaningfull encounters. You won't get that as a regular tourist - somebody who just goes somewhere to take a bunch of photos with the "postcard" monuments.
Caring about natural environment is very important for me. Unfortunatelly untill we invent solar airplanes, tourism will have a major negative impact on our planet. This year I decided to take a huge trip and go to Brazil, but I know it may be one of my last long distance trips (ever heard about carbon footprint?) That means I have to find to another ways of meeting different cultures. :)
Interests
Some people are obsessed with one particular topic. It was never my case. I am a funny-facts collector. Almost everything seems interesting and exciting. Lately I have been trying to get my head around:
- impact of new technology
- climate change, the uncertian future of earth and an epidemic of plastic.
- Brazilian and Polish politics
and more....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing things happen in my dreams. If I did something in reality, that means it wasn't that extraordinary. But I am particulary proud of my travel diary that was published by Revista Piaui, my favourite brazilian opinion magazine: https://piaui.folha.uol.com.br/materia/miojinho-na-cabeca-polonesa/ ;)
