About Me

Updated on Sept 2023:
Sorry I got a few travel plans for now so couldn't host guests. But I am look forward to hosting again!
And I foster dogs: www.instagram.com/furryfostertales

Here are some HK spots for you to check out:

1. Central market (newly revamped historical building)
www.instagram.com/centralmarkethk
Many shops, food, events, a good place to hang out in Central and buy souvenirs maybe

2.Tai Kwun (also newly revamped historical building)
many exhibitions and events to take picture, most of them are free

3.HK art museum (it has been closed and reopen recently, a very nice place nice to hang out with great habour view)
-free entry with nice exibition and a place to sit and rest after shopping in Tsim Sha Tsui

4.K11 MUSEA (new mall with chic design echoing museum theme and I think the new night market is just outside, where the promenade located)
For spending, probably the basement dining area is more appealing

5. West Kowloon promenade (where M+ and HK palace Museum located, and popular picnic place, weekends are full of crowd)

6.Sai Kung
I found the eco tours pretty nice. Join once with my family. https://www.volcanodiscoverycentre.hk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5&Itemid=118&lang=zh
And Sai Kung got many good restaurants too! (not for seafood, which is overpriced)

7.Outlying islands: Cheung Chau, Peng Chau are more local

8.Fung Shing Restaurant
A place for many authetic dishes, you can see their dishes here: www.instagram.com/p/CzTep9yPCGx/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Heard their dim sum are good too but haven't tried

9. Ap Lei Chau for seafood
I used to live there and now just 15 mins nearby! Many people pick seafood in the wet market and then let the restaurant cook for them.
This one is my favourite:

They cook great sweet and sour pork too. But the place not very decent, another good place is here: www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/r-%E6%B5%B7%E6%9D%B1%E8%BB%92-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF%E4%BB%94-%E7%B2%B5%E8%8F%9C-%E5%BB%A3%E6%9D%B1-r530551

If one can wake up early, actually the best place to buy seafood is 3 mins boat away,
aberdeen seafood market (only open 7am-11am), many fishmen trade there. Very fresh and good deal. (www.facebook.com/hashtag/%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF%E4%BB%94%E5%A4%A9%E5%85%89%E5%A2%9F/)

CURRENT MISSION
Explore life, food and visual culture.

ABOUT ME
I enjoy traveling and cultural exchange a lot. There're many ways of travelling and I tried a few: airbnb, hostel, guesthouse, hotel, motel, CS etc. I will definitely opt for CS . Normally I'll spend same money on buying ingredients for cooking for the host and prepare some calligraphy stuff and some souvenirs from my hometown. Even I gotta spend same amount of money as the hostel or airbnb, I'll still love to do this. CS makes the relationship between surfers and hosts simpler and less pressure and no obligations. My money can be spent on facilitating our communications and cultural understanding which I think is better than pay and stay.

Started meditation which change my attitude towards life.

One new thing in Sept 2023, riding scooter alone up and down the hilly road in a rainy day in Langkawi, Malaysia, with many cars passing by. Won't try this again haha
