About Me

Recently I suspended my studies ´cause I didn´t see any point in where my life was heading. So I got my Working Holiday visa and moved to New Zealand to explore other cultures and gain some life experience. It is definetely one of the best things I´ve ever done :). I found out that I really like visiting new countries and WH is a good chance how to stay in another country for a long time. I didn´t travel a lot in my life so far but now I know that this is what I was looking for.
Travelling opened my eyes and every single day I´m more and more keen to see new places, meet new people, share experiences and opinions.
I would definetely recommend anyone to travel as soon as possible. The habit of having a "gap year" is not very common in my country (Czech Republic) but I hope that young people will realize what pros travelling can bring to them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have almost no experiences with Couchsurfing yet but I really like the idea meeting with locals because they know the place where you travel the best.
One of my worries before I started to travel was that I´m gonna be lonely, lost and won´t know what to do, but Couchsurfing can minimize this.
So when I travel I want to know the culture as much as possible and this is the best thing about Couchsurfing

Interests

My biggest passion of my life is the sport I play - softball. For those who don´t know softball - it´s a sport very similar to baseball. Unfortunately it´s a very small sport and not so many people play it and know it. But the community around is great. If you play softball you have friends all around the world. My experience is that softball players help each other no matter where you come from, how old are you, what color are you... It´s like a big familly. I like to talk about softball as well so if you will be interested it´s gonna be my pleasure to introduce you "the best sport in the world" :P

I like to cook a lot as well. I enjoy to try new cousine and I like almost everything :D. I started to cook when I was really young. I appreciate when my guests like my dish, that´s the best reward. I want to learn about new foodstuffs, even from your country! So if we meet I´d like to share my knowledge about food or we can even cook together.

Another thing I like is math. Not much enjoyed by many people but I find math quite amazing and powerfull. Math is the language of nature and you can do really interesting things with math if you understand how to use it. Most of the people don´t like math because schools can´t teach it the boring way.
So if you like math as I do we have definetely hours and hours of potential conversation waiting for us :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Probably rock but I don´t have any dedicated music style. In general I like music that makes me feel either happy, relaxed or boosts me up. I don´t like sad songs at all..

To be specific, these are my favorite bands:

- System Of A Down, AC/DC, Tenacious D, Bloodhound Gang, Green day etc.
- some Czech bands: Totální nasazení, Visací Zámek, MikkiM, Fast Food Orchesta (this is very cool!! check my favorite song by them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y39hD1GXfuE)

I don´t enjoy watching movies a lot. But if I do, it usually is a sort of crazy US comedy like American pie or Eurotrip.
What I really like to watch are sitcoms! The Simpsons, Futurama, The Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, American Dad...

I don´t read much even though I know I should. If I have to choose one book that affected me the most I´d pick 1984 by George Orwell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just packed my bag and went to the other side ofthe globe to New Zealand to explore this amazing country. Totally on my own :) I´m not definetely the first one who made this but in this point of my life I can´t see anything more amazing :D

Teach, Learn, Share

Like I wrote above, I love to cook. So if we will cook together I can show you what I´ve learned during my life. I´ll be also keen to learn something from you :)

Then I´d like to share informations about my culture and my country - Czech Republic. We are comparatively small country in the middle of Europe, next to Germany. I find out that many people, expecially out of Europe, do not know us at all, or just very roughly (some of them do know Czechoslovakia, but we split with Slovakia more than 20 years ago). I´m sorry for that and I want to change it.
We have plenty of things we can offer to the world, one example is Czech beer. It IS the best beer in the world :P
