Hey people, my name is Marie, I am 26 years old and currently living in Bochum, Germany for midwife school. Actually, I am from the area of Cologne. Therefore, I am open-minded, life-loving and relaxed. I love to travel myself and I am always up to making plans to travel. Though, I also love my country and my culture that I am happy to welcome you at my home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a great thing to travel cheaply and get to know the cultures in a better way as you stay with locals. Also, it is always nice to have a good talk with people who have different opinions.
I have traveled a lot and I have made friends in other countries. I love when they come visit me. So you are very welcome to visit me as well.

Interests

I am really into that topic of traveling. I like everything about different cultures, especially the food. I love cooking, baking and eating. Also, I like to take great pictures. With my friends I go to concerts, to the movies or just hang out and drink a good wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

My all time favorite books are Harry Potter. I also like the movies. I am a midwife student and love to read all about my job to get more self-confident to advise my clients. Right now I am into the series of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three of my best experiences:

When I went to TN, USA from August 2009 to June 2010, I stayed with my host family and they quickly made me feel home and American. Until now, we are in contact and I try to visit them as often as I can.

In September 2017 I went to Nice France and stayed in a hostel where I met one of my great friends. She is from Britain, we visit each other and make dates to get updated on each other's life. You can make friends anywhere if you want to.

In January 2019, I went to the World Youth Day in Panama and stayed with two Panama families for one week each and got to know there culture. I have learned that it is not all about money, all about the newest and the best. I have learnt it is all about a good heart.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook German, teach German and show the German way of living if you want to know it.
For me, I am trying to refresh my French right now and I started to learn Spanish. So if you speak any of these languages, help me learn them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I can bring some German culture and simple joy and a smile with me to make my stay with you comfortable. I am willing to help in the household or to cook for you.
