About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To caffeinate the world, one cup at a time!

ABOUT ME

I'm always on the move. I'm not content sitting still for very long, the World is big and time is limited!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing offers a more intimate setting. It allows one to experience the World as it truly is. While hotels are nice, clean and fairly predictable, Couchsurfing offers adventure, learning opportunities and the chance to make new friends.

Interests

I spend my time reading, writing and daydreaming. Somewhere in between, I manage to work enough to pay the bills and play.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to every continent, except for Antarctica. That trip has proven to be very elusive. I've applied for support positions for several years now. This year I was acknowledged by a recruiter, so I have hope that it will happen in the next few seasons!

Most of my World travels have been a byproduct of racing BMX. With every trip to the World Championships, I made sure that I arrived early or departed late, allowing me time to do something amazing.

My first tandem jump, from 14,000 feet, was in Australia during the 2003 World Championships. During the 2009 World Championships in Adelaide, I flew to Cairns to SCUBA Dive the Great Barrier Reef. In South Africa in 2010 I went to a game reserve and saw the most amazing animals (and confirmed my suspicion that I could never be a big game hunter). My 2008 trip to China found me walking the Great Wall and admiring the Ming Tombs, with a side trip to Hawaii for Kona Coffee. In 2004 I went snowboarding, in July, in the Netherlands. The Montana Snow Dome was directly across the street from the BMX track, how convenient! In 2005 I spent a week in Paris, and while that was very nice, my side trip to Iceland was unforgettable! I did the same thing in 2011 as well, I spent a few days in Iceland on the way home. The Blue Lagoon was just what I needed!

As luck would have it, my sister decided to do her graduate studies in Galway, Ireland. So, I Couchsurfed with her and packed as much as I could into my short visit.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd really like to be proficient in several languages. I'm currently working on French and have a decent grasp of Spanish. I want more than anything to allow language to open up the World for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share coffee. I have lots of it!
