Overview
About Me
Born and raised in a small town in Norway. During my studies to become a computer engineer and programmer I was able to go on two exchanges to Australia, and then Taiwan. Somehow along the way I fell in love with traveling. As a kid I always liked to play video games and watch movies and listen to stories about traveling and going on adventures, and now that I am an adult I can experience it first hand!
I quit my programming job in February and moved to Barcelona to work on a video game I started, but couldn't finish because I needed money. While there I realized I wanted to study biology, and right now I'm pretty much just waiting for the semester to start, while at the same time getting the most out of my time as a free man ^^. I just spent two weeks in Okinawa, and I'm thinking now I'll stay in Tokyo for a little while. Perhaps travel a bit around the outside of the city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the community, how it makes it possible to travel and meet locals when traveling, and how it makes it possible to meet travelers when not. I feel that as I have traveled quite a bit in my life, the most common tourist attractions don't usually appeal that much to me in every case, and thus meeting local people who knows what's up has in the past been fantastic experiences for me.
For example; a few years ago I was studying abroad in Taiwan and went for spring break to the philippines where I met this great guy who took me and some friends to camp out on an uninhabited island on the north coast of Palawan. We slept in hammocks on the beach and cooked awesome fish on the fire and drank the night away!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Really like rock music including most sub genres, but also like most other music. old school hip hop I can like, but as I said I usually like most music genres. It is more about the quality and lyrics than what genre it is for me. Although right now I really like beach rock.
Books:
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is a pretty cool book(s). Both fiction and non-fiction can be interesting to read but I really don't read that much to be honest.
Movies:
I really like movies with a bit of meaning behind it, but sometimes its just nice to watch a simple comedy or action flick when I wanna relax.
I think my favourite movie is Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo. I also like the work of Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Participated in hosting a training workshop for IT-professionals in Health in Goa, India. And after relaxed at a yoga resort and surfed and ate delicious fish for 5 days ^^
Teach, Learn, Share
Try to get to know people before you judge them, you are probably wrong about your assumptions! I know I've been in the past (both in good and bad ways unfortunately).
Try to challenge yourself to do stuff you are afraid of doing if you deep down want to. It will probably turn out to be a good experience!
Going to new places can change your life forever - if you have a chance to go somewhere new, do it!
I for one love traveling, but I also need to feel like I'm doing something productive after a while or I get bored with what I'm doing. I'm lucky to right now be able to work on making video games which allows me to travel as it's location independent, and I hope in the future my new career in biology might allow me to travel while working too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook, play guitar and drums, and I'm willing to teach (or jam).
I speak Norwegian, Swedish and Danish, which I can also teach, and I've been learning Spanish now for three months pretty intensively. I have a master's degree in IT so if you have any computer problems I can surely help you with that. And English too, I'm almost like a native in the language, except I try to keep my Norwegian accent =).
I've also been doing a lot of yoga the last two years. I am not a certified teacher so I wouldn't feel confident in teaching you anything serious, but I can give a basic intro.
