About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm Lea, I live in Lyon with my fatty cat Loulou, who is the reason why my neighbours think I'm crazy (Loulou doesn't really get why I keep screaming when he bites my feet). I study cinema, because well, you know, cinema. My friends always make jokes about my "hipsterishness", and I have no idea why.
All jokes aside, I love travelling (even though I don't have time for this anymore), meeting people whose cultures sound like a million miles away from yours, and I guess those are the main reasons why I'm on CouchSurfing. But let's go on with the next category...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
(best transition ever) In summer 2013, I experienced CouchSurfing with my best friend, when we were in Berlin. Fortunately, I think we met one of the best CouchSurfers ever, who was nice and patient to us, even though we were probably immature as hell. It was a really great first experience, and now CouchSurfing is a part of my definition of travelling. It definitely is the best way to meet and share with people who perfectly know where you are, give you the tips tourists will never hear of, and lead you to the best places.
Thus, I wanted to experience hosting, which I did while I was living abroad in Tartu, Estonia (#missyou). I obviously loved it, since if I didn't, I guess I would just have deleted my account ASAP. And my account is still there. I guess you got the thing.
Interests
I love hanging out with my friends, as many people I guess. Is beer able to be considered as an interest?
Also, I - try to - play ukulele and glockenspiel. By extension, I love listening to music, always looking for some new artists to complete my collection of records.
I'm into photography as well : for the moment, I only work with film cameras (even though my Canonet is my one and only love). I love the fact that you don't really know what's gonna happen with your picture until, well, you paid for the development. I still don't know the full process of the making of an analog photography, but I want to learn (and I will) :)
I also really love studying new languages. Right now, I'm struggling with Arabic - struggling is an euphemism. But I feel the pain for all the foreign people who try and learn French, as fucked up as it is with all those grammatical exceptions and shit. I guess this is just a natural revenge.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A party on a roof, with my best friends, where we ended up admiring the sunrise. It may not sound that amazing, but it's still one of my best memories. Simple things are the best!
However, there's also this trip to Lapland that fits in this category, since the beauty of this region of the world left me speechless. It is amazing for me to think that I've been so far away in the North, and actually survived the cold. And damn, those Northern lights.
What I Can Share with Hosts
You'll be able to judge my cooking skills - however, do not expect any meat because I'm a vegetarian, and no cheese as well, because I can't eat it :( Such a tragedy for the French girl that I am. But I won't blame you if you want to eat some. You do whatever you want, and remember that you can be yourself at my place, there will be no judgement (except if you're a racist / homophobic / sexist pig, but then you're not welcome at my place :))
