Once while I was conversing with a friend of mine I realized that I don’t like it when people define others based on the things they like. There’s a small barrier between the first impression that we give to people and what we wish to project ourselves as. In my case, I could say that my being vegetarian, passion for film and love for cats would be the things that define me. But there are also a ton of small pieces that could comprise the image of who I am.
I study Art History, but my real passion is film.i studied cinematography at Barcelona and Mexico City.
In my free time, I like to take my camera out to the city streets or go to museums. I like to wander without any fixed path, find new places and meet new people.
I grew up and went to school in Mexico City, and I know places that are great for going out to eat on a Saturday evening, or for listening to live mariachi music on a Wednesday.
I am passionate about animals and nature. I’m willing to hang out among the big crowds of the city just as much as I’m willing to go on a hike and have a picnic. No matter where I go, I’m always looking for the opportunity to capture the essence of the moment I’m living in; this usually manifests in me taking a photo of the person I’m with in order to preserve the expression of that person that shares these moments with me.

Alguna vez platicando con una amiga me di cuenta que no le gustaba que la definieran a partir de las cosas que le gustaban. Existe una pequeña barrera entre la primera impresión que le damos a las personas con lo que queremos proyectar. En mi caso podría decir que ser vegetariana, mi pasión por el cine y los gatos sería algo que me definirían. Pero también existen un montón y pequeñas piezas que pueden completar una fotografía mía.

Soy un estudiante de historia del arte, pero mi verdadera pasión es el cine. En mis tiempos libres suelo ir a jugar con la cámara en las calles de la ciudad o ir a museos. Me gusta caminar sin rumbo, encontrar lugares y conocer gente.
Nací y aprendí en la ciudad de México, conozco todo tipo de lugares como para comer en una tarde de sábado o salir un miércoles en la noche con de gritos de mariachis.

Soy apasionada a los animales y la naturaleza. Puedo pasar entre el bullicio de gente por las grandes ciudades o tener una larga caminata por el bosque para finalizar con un picnic.
No importa a dónde vaya, siempre estaré buscando la oportunidad de retratar el momento que estoy viviendo, de tomar una fotografía a quien tengo enfrente y poder congelar la expresión de esas personas que comparten conmigo ese instante.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting people from different places and learn about their customs as well as their life visions. I like to explore new places in order to broaden my horizons.
I love to travel whether I’m alone or with some friends; either way, I’ll make sure to find new things.

Me gusta conocer gente de diferentes lugares, conocer sus costumbres así como su visión de vida. Me gusta averiguar lugares distintos a los míos para abrir mis panoramas.
Me gusta mucho el viajar, sola o acompañada pero siempre descubriendo cosas nuevas.

Interests

My interests have very close links to art. I love to spend a lot of time in museums or go to galleries. I love to watch movies and to go out and see what new adventure the city gives me.

Mis intereses están más ligados al arte. Me gusta pasar mucho tiempo en los museos e ir a exposiciones.
Ver películas todo el tiempo y salir a pasear por la noche a ver que nueva aventura depara.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for music, I like indie, but I can always dance to some good salsa music. My one true love is film, so I can talk for hours about movies that I like. As for books, I feel that I can identify with Haruki Murakami’s work, as well as that of Mishima or Banana Yoshimoto. Gilles Lipovestsky’s books intrigue me and make me question the “why”s of our society.

La música me gusta mucho el indie, pero siempre puedo bailar con una buena salsa.

Los libros podría decir que me identifico son las novelas de Haruki Murakami, así como las novelas de Mishima o Banana Yoshimoto. Me intriga encontrar el porque de nuestra sociedad con los libros de Gilles Lipovestsky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to put myself in situations that make me question myself. I like adventure, but not danger necessarily. I remember a trip to New York where I found myself alone for the first time with no one to look after me; I had to confront that enormous city alone. It was a wonderful experience, and I try to repeat that experience in other parts of the world.

Me gusta ponerme en situaciones donde yo misma me desconozco. Me gusta la aventura pero no me gusta ponerme en peligro. Recuerdo un viaje a Nueva York donde fue la primera vez que me encontré sola sin nadie que cuidara de mi y enfrentarme con esa gran ciudad. Fue una gran experiencia y deseo exprimir otras ciudad así.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Si es época vacacional en México puedo ofrecerles unos buenos recorridos por los museos de la ciudad de México. Todo dependerá de mis horarios de trabajo. Puedo ofrecerles salidas a algunos bares y discotecas del centro de la ciudad.
Siempre podré compartir un buen café por la mañana y una charla en la noche.
