About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to gain as much incentive and experience from other countries and be inspired by what i learn, do, see and the new people i meet :)
ABOUT ME
Man oh man.. vague question.. I am Chiara. I am a good friend, a passionate person, a hard worker. I like people who are honest and i am inspired hearing about people and their life experiences. Everyone has a different story to tell.. I don't really know what i want to be, or where i will be in the next ten years.. but i couldn't care less.. i know i want to travel and experience something new and beautiful.. the rest, well i am just going to wing it and see where it takes me..
PHILOSOPHY
"If you dwell on the past, and worry about the future, you will struggle with the present.. so live for the moment."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am looking for couches, and lovely people to meet :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In-fucking-credible.
Interests
In no particular order..
I love to paint/sketch/craft, swim at the beach, listen to (talented) music, break rules (within reason), drink and make coffee, cook and dance (not necessarily at the same time.. Can get messy.. Though, it can also be necessary).. (For example, listening to twist and shout whilst scrambling eggs..).
Primarily I am a dancer. I've danced extensively throughout my life in a variety of different styles (Ballet, Jazz/modern, Lyrical, Acrobats, Contemporary, Hip hop etc etc) and after i finish travelling the world i plan to study somewhere arts based to continue on my dancing for a more productive purpose.
.. I tell myself this.. But the high I've got from travelling so far.. I may give up this aspiration and simply become a nomad.
Music, Movies, and Books
Wow.. um. That's a big one.. Hilary Smiths "Welcome to the jungle", Nick Hornbys "high fidelity", Charles Burkowski, Alan Watts.. Garden State, V for Vendetta, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, ANY of the studio Ghiblis... I like Sigur Ros, Modest Mouse, Brand New, Amanda Palmer, Death Cab For Cutie, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bon Iver... I love music. I am not bias to much other than crap pop and techno
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Left Australia for the first time, came alone, with absolutely no clue or any solid plan.. Up for one wild ride.
Oh. And I kissed Amanda Palmer. On the mouth. With my mouth. It was fucking magnificent.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to gain experience and piece of mind. A way to find myself and in that find serenity. I'd love to meet new interesting people, maybe learn a new language, be taught something cool.. i don't really know. I am a good talker though, maybe in trying to find myself i can give you some piece of mind also. I've been told on several occasions i am fairly mature for my age (without sounding vain..), so don't let the fact that i'm only 22 think that you don't have an interesting mind to exchange thoughts with :) Given the proper equipment i also have enough knowledge and skill to teach almost anyone to make coffee and bake a good batch of muffins :)
I can also teach you how to 'wolf whistle', cartwheel/handstand/tinski (or any other acrobatic trick), tie a cherry stalk into a knot with your tongue, cup dance, open a beer with a lighter, and I can show you how to moonwalk like a champion.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've just arrived back home after travelling around Japan for the past three months and I feel should reciprocate the kindness shown to me over there by giving back to the couchsurfing community and hosting. I've never hosted before, but from my experience being on the other end for so long i think i have accumulated a sort of dept and should probably return the favour by hosting travellers in my own country. I work a lot, but I am happy to have people stay here as they please and whenever i get the time to show you around i most certainly will :)
