About Me

CURRENT MISSION

enjoy life.

ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Barbora, or Bára in Czech. I am finishing my MA degree in Sociology in Brno, Czech Republic, writing my thesis on urban sociology and post-socialist cities, while gaining some professional experience in HR. In my free time I spend as much time outdoors as possible, no matter if hiking up in the mountains, cycling or climbing. In the rest of my free time I play the piano at theatre improvisation performances, which is always great fun and living-in-the-moment experience. Last but not least, I am a great fan of modern art.

PHILOSOPHY

My motto could be this buddhist wisdom: Why the rush when everything is happening here and now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´d love to do both surfing and hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well the summer 2013 I couchsurfed my way through California which was an amazing experience.
Moreover, I was lucky enough to gain some previous couchsurfing experience in Madrid and Brussels, arranged by my fellow travellers. We have also hosted a couple of couchsurfers at our student apartment, which was always a nice encounter.

Interests

Travelling is one of the cornerstones of my life, as I also work for an outdoor travel agency. I enjoy life, being in the nature and having conversations that help me get closer to deeper meanings. I also love learning foreign languages and getting to know different cultures - maybe the combination of travelling and sociology made me cherish everything different.
