ABOUT ME

"Who am I?" Isn't that the hardest question in life? ;-) Let's give it a shot!

I am a 24 year old Dutch girl who is loving life! I started my first, real travel in February 2013 and I can definitely say I am infected by the travel bug now! I am currently in Australia and I love it! I am positive and easy-going. I love to learn about other cultures and to hear about other people's passions in life.

PHILOSOPHY

- One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching.

- Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

- There are no strangers, only friends you haven't met yet.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got introduced to CS in Brisbane where I attended a fair few CS events and activities and I met a lot of awesome people there! I recently surfed a couch for the first time in Melbourne. I would like to surf some more couches during my travels and continue to meet amazing, inspiring people. I would also like to host other couchsurfers when I'm back in Holland and show people around in our beautiful, little country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a beginning couchsurfer, but my experience so far is really positive! The people I met so far are all so kind, open-minded, trust-worthy and respectful. I believe in the goodness of people. Traveling enforces you to trust 'strangers'. I think that's why CS works. People open their houses and their lives to other people, share stories, experiences, knowledge, passions, moments, and that is great! We can enrich each other's lives and maybe make the world a little bit a better place. =)

And how cool is it to have friends all over the world?!

Music: Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard, Racoon (a Dutch band, I will introduce you!), etc. I also like going to music festivals. We've got a fair few good ones in the Netherlands!

*Never underestimate the therapeutic power of driving and listening to very loud music*

Books: Psychology, traveling, and ok, I admit, also the she-likes-him,-he-likes-her,-but-still-they-need-376-pages-to-get-together-books.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

- Fell in love with mountains, skiing (and apres ski!) in Austria
- Bought my motor drivers license in Bali and traveled around the island by scooter.
- Traveled from Adelaide to Sydney in a campervan, did some free camping along the way and saw amazing things
- Spent three months on a farm in the middle of nowhere to get my second Working Holiday Visa for Australia. It sure was an experience!
- Did a roadtrip along Australia's west coast and saw the most beautiful things!
- Lived in a very remote town in the outback of Australia for seven months.
