About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Adventure seeker (musical and otherwise)

ABOUT ME

I work as a freelance conductor for orchestras, choruses, and opera and theater companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. I believe I was put on Earth to interpret other people's music and inspire performers and audiences. I am extremely social, polite, love good conversation, stimulating books, film and performances. I am always seeking new adventures (in any shape or form).

PHILOSOPHY

I was once watching an interview with Sir Simon Rattle (a very virtuosic and charismatic British conductor). He was asked by the interviewer "What do orchestra musicians want?" He leaned in close and said something I'll never forget: "They want to go on an adventure." Never have I heard something resonate with me so much, not just my musical philosophy, but my philosophy of life in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am mostly interested in surfing, but occasionally hosting whenever possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've traveled across the country a few times, spending time on friends' couches catching up with them. I am very generous with my own homes and try to host my friends whenever possible.

Interests

Adventures of all kinds: music, theater, live performances, books, film, new kinds of food experiences, reading, being outdoors in nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

Check out my Facebook profile for all of this. Anything thought provoking and eclectic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every day of my life - truly. I get to conduct orchestras for a living. Every day is amazing. (Plenty of travels around the US as well.)

Teach, Learn, Share

I play many musical instruments and love teaching people new songs, how to play an instrument, or how to read music.
