About Me

I tend to think too much. But often the outcome makes it worthwhile.

Making good progress in beeing not so self-critic.

Hungry for life, people, experience and all kinds of stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way to connect to unkown people. And that's one of the few bigger benefits this internet-thing has to offer.

Interests

reading and telling stories
eating well and cooking in creative if not always edible - ways
cinema - the good and the bad (in the last months actually more of the bad...)
the mountains and the sea
sitting in other peoples kitchens, watching other peoples lifes happen in front of me
climbing and bouldering
great and small politics - don't start a conversation about ethics in economics if you have plans for three days to come...
first of all: You and your stories

Music, Movies, and Books

My Books:
Oh boy. The list, I'd like to have read, covers most of european, eastern, north- and southamerican classics. The things I actualle have read look more like serendipity. Tolkien and C.S.Lewis, John Irving, Viktor Pelewin, Umberto Eco, Victor Hugo, Juri Brezan, B. Traven, Terry Pratchett, Bulgakov, very little Dostoyewski, Lew Tolstoi, Erich M. Remarque, Heinrich Böll, Günter Grass, ...

Music waits for a more conscient approach. The wild collection: Pearl Jam, New Model Army, Midnight Oil, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, John Hurt, Pentangle, Simon and Garfunkel, Of monsters and men, Oi Vavoi, Gotan Project, Ani di Franco, Ben Caplan, Counting Crows, french Bal Folk and some kinds of electronics, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, Morcheeba
Still no time to discover new things while they are new.

I digest everything. Almodovar, Amenabar, Truffaut, Godart, Polanski, Scorsese, Bigelow, de Palma, Kislowski, Lynch, Jarmusch, von Trier, Tykwer, Burton, Leone, Bergmann... Could spend my life in a video rental, that is sorted by directors.
Favourite TV-Show ist The Wire. Didn't watch GoT. I have a secret crush on Star Trek DS9. Still planning to watch it wholly, together with one special friend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decided to tell stories and started to do ist. Everything else, where I go and what I do there is just a part of it.

Here you got a more specific one. In 2011 I designed three boardgames as postcards with an envelope in place of a box. Got them printed 7.500 times and sold them in little stores all over Germany. Ever came across "Der Besucher"? Don't know how it's meant to work? Just ask me.

Btw - the most amazing things don't get the million clicks on youtube. You can't even describe them on couchsurfing. But maybe they become the beginning of a story yet untold.

Teach, Learn, Share

You could try the Storytelling-Workshop and discover more of your own stories, than you had been aware about. Or maybe not. But it's still a cool game.
