About Me

PLEASE NOTE that I can only host ONE PERSON at a time. This is for various reasons and based on experience, so please don't send me requests for hosting more than one. Thank you for your understanding!

As a host: I'm super honest and super curious. I love getting to know new people and hearing their stories. I'm always a bit busy while in Iceland, so you should probably not rely on me for company, although I'll be happy to give it anytime I can! Even if I won't be able to join you for your adventures I'll be happy to give hints and tips and help you out in finding your way around the island (or whatever). I'm not the best cook, but willing to improve.

As a guest: I'm positive and open minded and I love to experience new things. To me there is no such thing as bad food, unless it's actually gone bad! I'm a tidy person myself, but also tolerant when other people are not so tidy and I don't have high expectations. I sleep super tight, so any sort of noise or disturbance won't bother me, and I can sleep just about anywhere. Give me a thin blanket on the floor and (I may wake up with a dead arm but) I will have no trouble sleeping.

I love live music, I like to drink coffee or beer and talk politics (or whatever) and I'm generally a curious person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to get to know people with different backgrounds and experiences and when travelling I prefer to meet locals and see the everyday life of the people rather than spending days on ends surfing churches, museums and mosques.

Interests

Music, music and music, people, life, politics and cats. And world peace.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm all about music. If I can see live music it doesn't really matter what genre or band or artist, I'll love the experience.

I'm particularly fond of world music and folk, I'm not a big fan of extremely mainstream pop (with exceptions) or heavy metal rock (without exceptions) but I do appreciate classic rock, indie and electronic music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a half marathon in Palestine on 1 April 2016. Ohh, and I've given birth to a human child. I think that's pretty crazy. And amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In exchange for hosting I can offer good company, positive atmosphere and hopefully some interesting stories. And if you like to sing I can do harmonies!

I consider myself a rarity, as Icelanders are not that many in the world! We are only 320.000 so chances are I'm the first Icelander you've ever met and possibly the only one you'll ever meet. So, I can tell you about Iceland from the eyes of a local.
