I'm currently working as a General Surgeon in Ceuta. My wife and me try to spend at least a month travelling to new countries every year, but from now on our new baby will make us slow down a little bit.

I'm interested in travelling absolutely anywhere. I don't like organised trips - I always try to move on my own, talk to local people, use public transport and merge with the local life as close as possible.
I love history, geography, nature and discovering the different cultures around the world. And collecting their coins, too...

Got stuck at 4,500 m in the Pamir mountains, between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, hiding from the Kyrgyz border patrol in the hut of a yak shepherd family.

Travelled accross the Sahara desert on a mining train in Mauritania.

Unwillingly entered the highly militarised Green Line in Cyprus.

Spent two days on a boat along the Mekong River in Laos, heading to Thailand from the city of Luang Prabang.

Travelled overland along the Andes, all the way from the Bolivian plateau to the Caribbean beaches of Colombia.
