Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was 19, studying English philology and spending most of my time on reading books, I decided that I should start traveling around the world. It all happened to me when I met my teacher in december 2012. She told me about the Erasmus program and offered me participation for next semester. I had one week to decide if I want to go- leave behind my school, friends, family, bed and beloved cat. This is what I did, and this his is how my real life started :)

I spent my first semester abroad, in Klagenfurt in Austria, seeing Europe at the same time. I was able to go around and learn a lot of things from different people and culture. I met amazing people who are my best friends even though we are living apart from each other thousands of kilometers. At that time I realised, that what I really want to do is to travel, learn about other cultures, languages and meeting people from all over the world.

Today, I am 24 years old, still chasing something undefined.
From 2017 we are continuing with Carlos our little trip around the world- from China, through Europe to Mexico. We would appreciate every help and act of kindness and every new friend on our way :) Greetings !

Interests

Living around my dad, who is a painter and true artist in everything he touches, and my boyfriend who is talented violin player I have to love art ! :)

Painting, reading, learning languages and other cultures, travelling and listening to music (sometimes trying to play guitar, piano or violin). Recently discovering passion for photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

Today, in case of Pop music and jazz I like Coldplay, The Killers, Zaz, Ella Fitzgerald, Muse, Athlete, Frank Sinatra, The Lumineers.

I used to listen to hard rock as a teenager and I still have some sentiment for it, but what I love the most is classical music, soundtracks from movies, games, theater pieces.

I like documentary movies, travellers programme, romantic comedies, action movies and all the classical titles like LOTR, Cloud Atlas, Amelie, The Green Mile, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurrasic Park .
My all times favourite is La vita è bella (1997).
I am into TV series as well- Sherlock (!great one), How I met your mother, Friends, New Girl, LOST, PLL, GOT and many others...

I never read books only once. I like to keep them to come back and see it from different perspective. I love polish writers- Wojciech Cejrowski, Andrzej Sapkowski. Also Andersen and Grimm stories, Tolkien, Harry Potter, Bridget Jones diary, Meg Cabot and all traveller books, dictionaries and maps :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven`t done it yet, but soon I will ! :)

I think that China tour was something remarkable. Moving every day to different places/cities even thousand kilometers far, discovering it´s beauty and -sadly- bad sides as well. Being able to experience it in every season, even though I was there less than a month (hot Sanming with banana trees after one day in snowy Peking was a true blessing!).
I think that learning, how it all differs from the truths given us by media, as well as being able to see this country as it really is, gave me incredible life expirience and knowledge which can not be taken from any other sources than from travelling to the place.
