Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like to have a "local"'type experience at the places I stay, plus meeting people that have had interesting experiences and want to share them.

Interests

Love to see the world from other people's perspectives through film, TV and theater. When I meet someone, I like to listen to them, hear what their experiences have been and how they see the world (hopefully over a good beer) When in a new place, I enjoy walking around with no particular direction, taking in the place and its people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Sufjan Stevens, Arcade Fire, 70's & 80's dance music and anything with a latino beat (Salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, you name it!)

Movies & TV: Six Feet Under, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock. Really into Catastrophe and Fleabag, as well as Looking and Girls. As far as film goes, have a soft spot for 90's romantic comedies, and anything and everything directed by Mike Nichols (especially Angels in America, The Graduate and Working Girl).

Books: Love Ian McEwan novels (favorite is probably Atonement), Angels in America (again) and Empire Falls (Richard Russo). Graphic Novels: Blankets (Craig Thompson) and Fun Home (Allison Bechdel).
