About Me
Hi everyone!
Many people have called me a hippie, but i think most of the time they actually want to say I'm a new age spritualist, whilst I don't really relate much to either of those cultures. I think people say that cus I grow a beard from time to time, have baggy no-brand clothes, like foraging for edible plants, growing and eating veggies, meditate now and then and have polyamorous relationships. (Maybe it's not so strange that people get that impression...)
I guess I'm a White Young Privileged Man in search of a honest and full-hearted way to live this life. More and more I'm learning that living a honest life might mean no security what so ever..
I think meeting new people is a good way to open up and challenge my preconceptions of others and to challenge my beliefs.
I live in a collective of 8 people and love it. Want to continue with this community based way of living for the rest of my life! Right now, that means supporting a crazy building project where we're trying to make a house that combine principles of communal living with having 24-25 separate apartments.
Before you request me to host you...
Note that if you are visiting Stockholm and not specifically Uppsala, I will not host you. Not everybody knows this, but they are two completely different cities. To get from the door of my house to Stockholm takes about 1,5 hour and costs around 130 SEK (14 EUR) one way. If you have that kind of money to go back and forth between Uppsala and Stockholm, I recommend you instead to check in to a nice hostel in the city of Stockholm!
If you don't explain in your request why you think it's a good idea for me to host you despite what I've written above, I'm going to decline your request without a second thought. No hard feelings, I just don't feel like explaining this in my responses to 90% of the requests I get!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To help out when I can and to find help when I need it. To find inspiration and learn from others. To meet more people to befriend.
Interests
My interests change almost year by year. When I was younger I did Salsa, Merengue, Street Jazz and Hip-Hop, but now I don't do classes anymore, I simply dance when there's good music on!
I've done a lot of martial arts through the years. Nowadays I mainly do Parkour and AcroYoga regularly, when someone joins me I also go climbing and I love hiking in summer.
I do winter swimming from time to time. Some periods I've done it regularly, but mostly it's a once in a while thing. I love the rush and shock of going in to the ice cold water - and the warmth and calm that spreads afterwards... mmm...
I love gardening! In our garden we have rhubarbs, 8 different berries, some herbs, chili, potatoes and carrots! :) and some flowers. It's pretty small scale and I would like to do more than I manage now in combination with work and other interests...
I have a big confession to make: I'm not the greatest fan of traveling. Don't get me wrong, traveling is nice. I just don't get super excited about it. And usually when I'm at a new place I pretty quickly get used to it and want to go away from there unless I meet interesting people, but then I just want to stay with them and it's super hard to leave. In Sweden alone I have found enough wonderful people to fill my life for a lifetime. So, travel is mostly hard for me. ;P It's hard to go away and miss the people at home and then it's hard for me to leave the people I've met during my travels. So, I'm on couchsurfing because I'm a huge fan of people, rather than travel.
