About Me
Hello everyone!
My name is Gráinne. Pronounced Gronia. Grá meaning love in Irish.
I make theatre and art installations, to put it short. I like working with people and exploring the bodies capacity for expressing. I am interested in how material culture has an affect on how we express ourselves. I sometimes make costumes or design spaces to curate that influence.
I’ve studied physical theatre and corporeal mime in Barcelona, textiles art and visual culture in Dublin, fine art in Norway and some trips into different corners of the world in between.
I’ve been doing (and teaching) gymnastics for most my life and sometimes dabble in circus :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like the concept of it and unsurprisingly ive met a whole load of kind people. I like the trust element (its good for people to trust in people) and it's good to take part in things that dont revolve around money!
Ive had the pleasure of surfing couches in the lots of places like the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Crete, Belgium.. erm anyhow, it was a great kickstarter to feeling independent on the travel road when I began at like 18. I'd reccomend it to anyone who has dreams to travel far afield, it's a great place to start.
Some of my best travelling memories have come from couchsurfing. Lots of very cool people on this who have wholeheartedly opened their homes to me and we've had hilarious, poetic, challenging engagements
