ABOUT ME
Hey everyone,
I'm Juli, a journalist and international relations student from Budapest, Hungary. I'm currently working on finishing my studies, and finding a cool place to work at, but I make time for traveling from time to time. Since I've had really good experiences with Couchsurfing before, this is the first place I come when trying to find accommodation for my trips. Although I don't have a lot of reviews (yet), I promise I'm an excellent guest! I'm clean, I'm quiet (if I need to be), I'm a good company and I appreciate listening to other people's stories. If you have time to show me around or hang out that's awesome, but I'm all right with only a place to sleep at too.
If you want to get to know me a little bit better just check out my Instagram or my Facebook page: https://www.instagram.com/jcarnifex/

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
By this far I've couchsurfed in Marseille, Paris, Barcelona, Krakow and in Alaska. I love this way of travelling, instead of just staying at a hotel. Let's be honest, it's super convenient for a broke college student like myself, but also this way I had the chance to meet some pretty cool locals, who showed me places in their cities I could never have seen without them.
Interests
Since I'm and international relations student and also a journalist I'm naturally interested in travelling and also to get to know other countries (from sightseeing to politics) as much as I can. I'm always up to a good conversation. I also live hiking, kayaking; taking photos. I'm a yoga enthusiast.

Music, Movies, and Books
You know that feeling when someone asks you about your favorite movies, music and books and your mind goes completely empty as if you haven't seen or read or listened to anything ever? That happens to me every single time even, but here are some random things I LOVE
Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio, Dope Lemon, Courtney Barnett, Portugal. the Man, Foals, Miike Snow, Jack White, Wolf Alice, Sufjan Stevens
John Steinbeck novels, basically any book about traveling, James Michener: The Drifters, Alex Garland: The Beach, Hugh Thompson: Tequila Oil
The Kings of Summer, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows, Only Lovers Left Alive, Call Ma By Your Name, Short Term 12, Victoria, It Follows; and of course there are all the TV shows: Stranger Things, True Detective, Breaking Bad, Twin Peaks
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently went for a three day hiking trip in Kachemak Bay State Park next to Homer, Alaska. After hiking 12 miles on the first day with heavy backpacks, we wanted to pitch our tent but we had to realize that we were missing all the tent poles. I went full survival mode, I cut down branches, gathered rocks and finally we managed to manufacture a pretty unique little tent in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness (check it out at my pictures). And we had to do it again on the next day. That crooked tent makes me incredibly proud :D
