Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I plan to travel a lot and see the world in the next five years. hopefully my generous two week paid vacations will allow me to complete my list of places I want to visit. I also would not mind hosting people, or getting to know friendly locals in NYC or other neighbors with similar interests.

Interests

I love a good story. Whether that be Movies, Books, TV etc... Cannot stand mindless violence, mindless sex, or a even basic straightforward plots. A story need to be original ideas and deep thinkers for it to grab my attention.

I follow the news and politics religiously and cannot go days without being aware of what is going on in the world. But I still love camping!

Music, Movies, and Books

TV Top Ten in Order: Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey, Newsroom, Mad Men, Chicago Fire, Homeland, Star Trek (any but favorite was Voyager), Firefly.

I also watch a lot of other shows including reality favorites such as The Voice and Shark Tank. Never anything trashy.

I tend to read a lot of books with political undertones or about politics in general. I also like to read biographies and history books. 1984, Among the Truthers, Voodoo Histories, Robots and Foundations series by Asmiov, anything by Arthur C Clark, any star trek books and the Price of Politics By Robert Woodward.

Movies: FIGHT CLUB!!, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Any Marvel Movie (they haven't made one I didn't like yet) The Man from Earth, Planet of the Apes (All), Lincoln, Captain Phillips, The Aviator, The Social Network, Lord of War, Anything by the Nolan Brothers! I'll watch most scifi movies too.

Throughout my life, there has been only one constant band that I could listen to without hitting the next button: AC/DC! Though crosby stills nash & neil young come at a close second.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived on a deserted island for a week, and I saved an animal shelter from bankruptcy. Both experiences are from the Boy Scouts!

As a computer technician I not only solve complex computer problems, but I have the patience to explain computers to anyone from ages 10-69, that's including religious fundamentalists since I work at a religious organization.
