About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Recently came back from around-Europe trip with string quartet, during which we played music on the streets of Germany, Switzerland, and France to collect money for food, petrol and souvenirs (plus a beer from time to time). Third time we did that. Hope to do it again.

My general mission is to explore the world, collect some crazy travelling experiences using CS, and to develop myself in the field of music - I like to play, compose, arrange, record, improvise. Composition is the main thing lately - for film, theatre, and autonomous composition.

ABOUT ME

I am a student at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Poland. I study Music Theory and Composition - This and last year I composed music for several theatrical plays, that were played in many different cities in Poland. I've studied violin for 12 years in music school in Bialystok, but then decided to move to some bigger city. I love music in all its forms - playing, listening, recording, writing. I also have other interests that do not always go well with the violin, for example roller skating at high speed through the city (didn't break anything so far though), or even archery.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I went to western Europe with my 3 of my friends two summers ago, and we played as a string quartet in various cities throughout Germany and Switzerland. All the hosts were very friendly and helpful in showing us beatiful areas and places to play music. You can check the references for their opinion about me and my friends :)

This year, starting July 30th - we are going again. This time our farthest destination is Marseille. Hoping for the next trip of my life with my friends.

Interests

I like to meet new people, which isn't uncommon on Couchsurfing, but I feel more comfortable in small groups of people - so partying in clubs or massive social events aren't my things. :)
Music - playing the piano, violin, singing, beatboxing, producing music using Cubase, writing music for theatre, film, and other visual media (recently had a project where together with my friend we created music for live visualisation made by a student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław)

I love swimming - didn't have much time to do it lately though, now coming back. Riding rollerskates (rollerblading) is my next big hobby.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I am a musician, which means that I am open to various kinds and types of music. Lately I mainly listen to acapella groups, such as Pentatonix, and Take 6, but also to fusion jazz groups like Snarky Puppy. I like more known bands and artists like Passenger, or Justin Timberlake too.
OH! This guy - Anomalie - French producer, pianist, absolutely genius! Check him out :)

Movies: I love fairytales! Brave, Frozen, Maleficent, Up, The Incredibles and Shrek are my favourites. Other than that, classics like Green Mile, Forrest Gump, or Hot Shots. I watch psychologically themed films from time to time - Clockwork Orange, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Lately started to catch up with TV series - Sherlock now playing :)

I've read some fantasy books in the past, Harry Potter series, Painted Man by Peter V. Brett, but lately I focus mainly on listening to music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Participated in a an international composition competition for film and video games scoring during FIlm MUsic Festival in Cracow this year - here's my entry, I took the 4th place!

I've also made a cover of Passenger's song called "Let Her Go". Check it out on YouTube, it's quite fun: https://youtu.be/Hq-DWoQzuko

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you a little bit about music, maybe teach you to play the piano or the violin (violin would take more time though). :)

I always wanted to learn French and to cook good Asian food, I can eat it all the time. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good time and sharing interesting stories.
I promise I will not cause any trouble :) I can now share some CS experiences with you, and, if I happen to have my violin with me, I might play you something. :)

Talks about music, film, theatre - all the art forms really - it's my life, so I will be happy to talk to ya about that and learn about your interests.
