Overview
About Me
I'm an art and sculpture teacher with a master degree in social anthropology based on alternative ways of living in the cities and the urban space. I really like to see new places and meet new people; go to museums and take a look at the architecture, the buildings, the landscapes, the social life and the food. Right now I'm more interested in knowing the culture and street life of the cities and communities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First of all, I truly believe this community is based on the creation of bounds and relationships of any kind through the chance to receive people in their houses as a way to not depend on the tourism sector and to experience the "real" side of a specific place, and yes, because it's an economical way to travel. I don't understand why people sometimes get upset about that.
I really think that this kind of community is for people who believe in reciprocity. So, if you receive me in your house I will remunerate that with helping you in some way and not based on money or maybe when you decide to come to the city where I live. Also, there are some people who assume that you have to pay them with sex, I don't like the idea of people making you feel that you owe them and you have to pay to satisfy their sexual fantasies or desires... For some people, this can be some kind of "Tinder" (something that a host literally told me), for me, it isn't (but I don't discard the chance to meet someone and feel attracted or in love with).
I want to believe that there are some people who don't have any problem receiving people from other parts of the world and they just really like to meet them and have special and particular moments that can end in incredible friendships or maybe love relationships.
Finally, I really want to meet new people and learn about their ways of living, how they create the social life of the places where they live, and the bounds that people from different countries, cities, and towns, can create (maybe it's because of my anthropological background). All I really enjoy is to acquire new visions and have experiences that improve and expand my own vision of life. And if it could be doing new friends and relationships.
Interests
I'm in love with reading and knowing more and more books, texts and authors.
Art from classical to contemporary (new media, performance, etc) I'm a huge fan of Balthus
Design (graphical, industrial, interactive)
Music (from Dvorak, Paganini, etc, till El General, Radiohead) I really enjoy discovering new songs, genres, bands, instruments, etc.
Food, food and more food (ah, yes, I'm not a huge fan of franchise restaurants, I prefer the food of places with their "own soul" and style (not necessary endemic, it could be a fusion or mixed place).

Having dinner with three wonderful people from different countries, that I just met the same day in a conference, watching the sunset in Porto's shore. Now we are good friends and keep in touch.
