About Me

LATEST UPDATE - Fev 2020 : hosting in Lisbon!

CURRENT MISSION

Learn from my mistakes and be a better person each day. Be happy and make others happy when the world needs it the most.

ABOUT ME

I have weird dreams and I write them down to read later.
I am the guy who always gets the beer shower on nights out.

Now seriously :) I'm a 34 year old Portuguese, really simple and friendly guy.
I like to enjoy the nice things in life and can't stand still for more than 10 minutes

I had my first couple of hosting experiences, they worked out really well and I'm loving meeting more new people, so this is a project to continue.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm doing a (another) pause in my travels, so in the meantime I hope to host nice people from all over the globe, and hear their stories about all the places they visited.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Cannot count the groups i've hosted with my fingers anymore. I've hosted people from places like USA, Russia, Lithuania, Brasil, Spain, France, Portugal, Holland, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Chile, Germany, Colombia, Belgium, Poland and Finland. All of them were great experiences and i still have contact with some of them.

With time and experience I found out that it is important to host all kinds of people. But in order for everyone to enjoy the most, it is also wise to read the request and the profile of the "candidate" and think if that person/group will match your lifestyle, personality, etc.

A very bittersweet aspect of CS : bonding with people and having the time of your life, making new friends and strong connections, and then having to say goodbye a few days later, not knowing when you will see them again.

Interests

Family, friends and bodyboard are my biggest passions in life!

I love to read, hear all kinds of music, and I'm a movies and TV series addict...it just would be perfect to have more free time to do all this!

I can't live without practicing sports (bodyboard, running, swimming, football and snowboard), travelling, being close to nature and going to the beach, eating a lot and new food, partying a lot, and the occasional geek chat :)

Sustainability, how to eat better and help the planet in a balanced way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any attempt of making a list of any of the topics would end up in a few hours without eating, which is impossible for me :D

Let's go by genres!

Movies : doesn't matter the genre as long as it's a good movie.

Music : Indie , Grunge and Rock in general, Pop, Techno, Electro, House, DnBass, Dubstep, Reggae, a bit of Jazz and Classical, Hip Hop

Books : Mostly thrillers, sci-fi, fantasy, drama, romance or comedy...so almost everything again :)

TV shows : another long-list...at the moment i am hooked up to Game of Thrones, West World, Vikings, Mr Robot, Peaky Blinders and Sense8.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to some really cool places, but there's still so much to see.
In the recent past, one thing that comes to my mind was my trip to Indonesia, where I surfed in this beautiful and sub-developed paradise island called Nusa Lembongan, with amazing weather, perfect waves, and landscape, and I saw a shark (a small sized one, but still a shark!!) diving a few meters from me!
After this, I witnessed the most beautiful sunset that I remember of.

A gap year travelling around the world, which included 2 trips in SE Asia and a 2 month, 9000km road trip through 11 countries in Europe!

Snow beach in Stockholm :D

Couchsurfing!

Getting to work in 5 amazing cities so far, and have the opportunity to know the locals and live like them.

Climb the Széchenyi Chain Bridge in Budapest after a night of partying, and watch the sun rise over the Danube and the city.

Surfed one of the 10 best waves in the world, during a huge swell!

The infamous Full Moon Party, Oktoberfest, and the one and only Tomorrowland!

A 4400km, 3-state, road-trip in the Western USA. What an adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

If I was back in Portugal, I would definitely bring you along and teach you how to Bodyboard (or surf).

Since Holland is freaking cold, water activities are a big no no. So I can show how the Ducth live, what they eat and drink, show you the tricks for riding a bike in the bike paths and not get hurt, and share my travelling stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A nice place to stay, freedom to come and go whenever you want, to hang out with me or not. If I'm free I can show you around the city.

I know some cool places for most of the tastes when it comes to nightlife.

I like to cook but you can delight me with your skills as well.

And if we (hopefully) get along, my personal and less serious sides will show up! :)
