ABOUT ME

I am an ex-psychology graduate student, living in Austin Tx. I am a great listener, and while a bit shy when I want to be I am very outgoing and affable. I am an independent thinker and bit of a skeptic, I have a pretty laid back and accepting and personality with a very open nature, and I love a good joke. I have never really traveled outside of Texas, though I have seen enough of the inside of it, and am hoping this site will allow me to establish connections so that I may rectify that.

PHILOSOPHY

I love to work with people and help others grow and develop into the people they choose to be in their lives. I believe people have the innate abilities to succeed if they can remove the obstacles to their growth. Fear, anxiety, and depression are crippling influences in the normal pattern of development for people. Life is about growing, changing, and continually trying to find out who one is in their lives. Life is mysterious, intriguing, scary, and at times meaningless. These contradictory qualities of life make it unsettling and ambiguous. Nevertheless, change and progress speed forward...

For a long time I was very sheltered, however after the influence of a very good friend I have begun to emulate her. Her philosophy of life was to do what seemed like a good idea at the time, and do it as hard as possible. Doing so has never let her down.

Interests

I love the outdoors, hiking, kayaking and camping are all great and I do them as often as possible. I bike for exercise and to the market when needed; however I don't do races or anything like that as of yet. Indoors, I am partial to board games, movies and especially learning about people. As a student of psychology I find the human mind fascinating. As a general rule, I will try anything once; twice if I like it.

Music:
I listen to anything really except hip hop or rap.

Books:
Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy is my favorite, I also enjoyed the Red wall books (RIP Mr. Jacques)as a kido. The 'Three Musketeers' and 'The Count of Monte Cristo' I also really enjoyed all of Sherlock Homes, as well as Alice in Wonderland. Currently I am reading The Complete works of Edgar Allan Poe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I could fill a book trying to describe the wondrous sites I have seen in my short life. Everything from the sun rise over the Gulf of Mexico on a cool spring morning, to a purple sunset over the Rockies. Even things dealing with people, some horrible ways people treat their fellow humans and some surprisingly wonderful ways that someone has gone out of their way to help another.
