About Me

I'm twenty years old and love to travel. The autumn after high school ended, I took a backpacking trip around central Europe with two close friends of mine. Since then I've been working in a sign shop, singing in a folk band (with those very same friends), and exploring my own city with traveler's eyes.

On some spontaneous whim I have decided I'm ready to be learning in a structured environment again. I've applied to several art universities in Canada. With the application process out of my hands, I've decided to take a short trip up the western coast from LA to Vancouver, both as a final trip before committing to one city, and as a means of keeping whether I get in or not off my mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to crash on someone's couch but the sheer concept of this place so valuable to me. I think something all members here share is a willingness to explore and make ties to connect our nations by immersing ourselves in each others cultures and seeing as much as we can.

I am looking to milk as many experiences, both grand and simple, out of this short life. For me that'll include seeing as many places, meeting as many folks, learning as many things, hearing as many stories, trying as much food, enduring as many struggles as I can so that I'll have some fancy yarns for the grandkids one day.

Interests

Music. I think sharing it is an excellent way of finding out about people

FOOD. I love learning new recipes. I'm a vegetarian. I tried to be vegan once but I just like cheese too much. I am disappointed when people visiting Canada don't like poutine (so far everyone I've met).

I love art. When I finally kick my ass into gear, it will be to hone my art skills and to learn about as many dead, crazy painters as I can. On my trip I was more likely to spend 17 euros on a gallery than sustain myself on anything other than a free hostel breakfast.

There's little I love more than going out dancing! (and because of my low alcohol tolerance you're likely to end up with with most of the pitcher)

Yoga. My interest began only as a means of keeping fit, but through it I have deepened my understanding of my body

What I Can Share with Hosts

Gratitude through the duration of my stay, willingness to run some errands/make a kick ass salad as a thank you, maybe a portrait or two that will only somewhat look like you, or a contact when you visit my city!
