About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am obsessed with finding what life and world is all about, how it works and understanding the people. Through science, art, books and travelling. I strive to find a meaningful way to contribute to the earth. My motto is: "Randomness is beautiful" and by that I mean that the best experiences and most valuable things come from experimenting and finding ourselves in new situations. Simply being open and understanding to everything we come across :)

The digital nomad movement resonate with me a lot.

ABOUT ME

Easy going, reliable and happy to help. I am constantly looking to experience new things and talk to lots of people. I am probably not too talkative, I enjoy deeper conversations compared to the usual chit-chat. But I am always friendly. If I can, I will be happy to host you and/or getting hosted by you. Check out my profile and drop me a line if you like. All the best :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It all started many years ago with short trips to Italy and Benelux. We stayed with many people during our travels with my GF. The experience was invaluable and it pushed me to creating my own profile to enjoy more CS experiences.

Then I spent summer 2014 working in Berlin and the CS community was one of the highlights of my stay. The events organised there were the best part of it - I went multiple times a week and met amazing people.

Currently I do not couchsurf often myself - I would like to give back to the community by hosting others. However, when I do travel, I always check the local events and communities. A couchsurf here and there also :)

Interests

I love tech and science topics, thats the first, I guess. Close second are sports, art and music.

Apart from these, I love travelling and understanding the people and their customs. A great way to broaden horizons and be more understanding and empathetic in everyday life. Also theatres musicals, concerts etc.
During summer me and couple of friends do supervisors on camps for children - I love working with them. Lately getting a bit more serious with job seeking, but I also find time for enterpreneurial activities and volunteering abroad.

Food is my hobby - mostly eating it of course, but I love cooking and experimenting with new flavours as well. If there is something new and experimental, I jump at it. Just have a look at the "One amazing thing" ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz (I play some sax), classical/new orchestral (anywhere, anytime) and tons of other music in between according to my mood: I like older music in general - like 60s - 70s, Vietnam war era rock and Balkanian/gipsy style music. From contemporary stuff I like Pretty Reckless, John Legend, Ella Eyre, Zaz, Parov Stelar, Daft Punk and I also like listening to orchestral music and soundtracks.

I do not watch too many movies as I find the experience to not be lasting long enough (in contrast to books and theatres). One of the more memorable were: One flew over a cuckoo's nest, Match Point, Leon, Donnie Darko, The Dark Knight.

Books: popular science (N. N. Taleb's books, psychology and bounded rationality), russian prose (Dostojevski, Turgenev), french poetry, The Godfather and tons I forgot about

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Eating bugs. Literally. Do not worry though, they were professionaly prepared by a chef in a restaurant. And they were delicious :P

I love adrenaline. Jumped out of an airplane (not a tandem). Learned to windsurf (now on to the kite!), enrolled in paraglide course.

Freely volunteering in various EE countries - meeting local enthusiasts and helping the societies there.

I was also lucky enough to see D.C., SF, Yosemitte, Vegas and Grand Canyon in a span of a few days. Also in 11 days travel around the most of Morocco, which turned out to be the biggest positive surprise ever.

Then, seeing both Lord of the Dance and Alexandrian Chorus in person. Both totally took my breath away.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are up to it, we might practice some languages or go for a workout together.
I am always in for a good discussion which may enrich both sides, share some nice memories about places I visited and people I met.
I am also a keen poker player.

That being said, if you want to learn something about higher maths or economics, I might be the person to ask. Just kidding of course :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I alway try to bring something original from my country when I am travelling. I also like to cook a bit and enjoy the meal with our hosts. I am no superchefs though, so we will be happy to share a nice meal outside.
Not talking anymore to not spoil the surprise - just invite me/us :)
