Resumen
Sobre mí
I'm a guy from Vilnius, Lithuania. I love travelling and exploring the world.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I know no better way to get to know the country you're in. It's almost unfair: it's so simple yet so effective. I wish more people knew of the system. Yes, you can spend the night at the hotel, and sometimes it's not that expensive. Yet I'd go with Couchsurfing everyday even if I had all the money in the world. It's about meeting a person who is like some sort of middleman between you and the whole country you are visiting. You see a slice of life that you wouldn't have seen otherwise ever.
CS community has been good to me and the best experiences of my travels came through the people I've met here. It's almost always crazy, unexpected, thrilling.
Intereses
I have studied political science and international relations, and I feel like it was a right thing to do. It provided me with a much broader perspective on the world. I couldn't ask for much more. If someone wants me to talk about why democracy is not necessarily interconnected with capitalist growth, or why Iraq is a country that no longer exists, or why Hobbes was interpreted wrongly by some - I can have that conversation.
Or we can simply talk about basketball, or comedy, or music. However, there are two things I am completely incapable to discuss: dogs and cars. I just know nothing about them somehow.

Música, películas y libros
The best novel I have ever read is perhaps "The Corrections" by J. Franzen. I also like writers like Kurt Vonnegut, Jorge Luis Borges, Franz Kafka. When talking about music, there are a lot of things that I enjoy, from Fleetwood Mac and Emerson, Lake & Palmer to Arctic Monkeys and Kendrick Lamar :)
My favourite movie director is Stanley Kubrick. I like almost everything he has ever done and I've watched every movie several times. Also, Milos Forman, the Coppola family, Alan Parker, David Lynch, Roman Polanski are definitely on my list.
By the way, the best comedy movie I have ever seen has got to be "This Is Spinal Tap". Although Python's "The Meaning of Life" comes close.
Algo increíble que he hecho
I will always remember when we got to swim at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore - we sneaked in for free. If you don't know the place, google it. I was there with Russian oligarchs and rich guys from China. It was bonkers.
