About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit friends and family in Europe and then explore a bit of China.

Experience more of the Couchsurfing community.

ABOUT ME

I'm a young Adelaidean who loves to travel. I love the outdoors, hiking and camping. I got my first passport at 3 months old and have been traveling close to every year ever since.

I grew up completely divided between Australia and Germany, constantly going back and forward. I've never really felt entirely at home anywhere except on the road.

I love to hitchhike. I consider it one of the best ways to travel. You only meet friendly open people, and you never know just exactly when or where exactly you'll end up that day.

I'm going on a brief trip to Europe and China before moving to Melbourne to continue studying in 2018.

PHILOSOPHY

Few points of view are entirely invalid or completely flawless. Discuss, compromise and keep an open mind. Be wary and critical of arguments dealing in absolutes.

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"

Surrounding yourself with new people and cultures is the best way to learn about yourself and your own part of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally got Couchsurfing a few years ago but never properly used it. I tended to stay with friends of friends, people who gave me lifts when hitchhiking, CS hosts my friends had visited etc.

I've been to a few Couchsurfing meets and had roommates host people, always loved the idea. I'd like to properly integrate myself this time.

Interests

I love soccer with a passion. I also love to travel around with a tent and see where the day takes me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many different types of music. Mostly alternative rock (The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, QOTSA, Growlers, etc) and housey electronic music (Lee Burridge, Nicolas Jaar, DJ Tennis etc). I can also get down to some vibey hip hop (think Jurassic 5), and have a soft spot for my childhood favourites of Van Morrison and Fleetwood Mac.

Movies always depend entirely on mood. Huge fan of the Coen Brothers though.

I like reading the favourite books of friends and family. My favourite is probably "Steppenwolf" by Hermann Hesse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've flown from one side of the world to the other in a magical metal tube within less than a day. I think that's pretty damn amazing.

Spent a full week simply walking down the beach and camping in Uruguay. Hardly saw a soul. Incredibly peaceful experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm bilingual German and English and lived in Chile for a while, so have strong Spanish. I'm happy to teach and help practice with any of them.

If my other alternative is "doing nothing", I'm game to try and share along with almost anything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always good for a chat, love to trade stories over a bite or a beer. I'm also always game on joining any outdoor activity.

I'm also happy to help anyone trying to learn English, German or Spanish.
