One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
SEA:
I have experience in sailing and sea-life (in the Mediterranean Sea), with my boyfriend.
I love travelling, meet new people from different countries, know more and more, and I have a good spirit of adaptation. So I'm always looking for an occasion to work at sea!
WWOOF (http://www.wwoof.net/):
a world wide network of people who share an eco-sustainable way of life, a constructive and meaningful exchange experience.
I left Italy to volunteer in Brasil (Joaquim Nabuco - Pernambuco, Tapera - Piauì, Sao Paulo) with an italian associacion.
I worked to promote activities, cultural and professional growth of young people of the place, teaching to children and crafting hand-made tools.
Then I worked in an agriculture community, in a project that revolves around rural and agricultural development and in particular programs which are based on achieving self-sufficiency, maintaining an adequate food supply, conservation and appreciation of the land, bearing in mind the role of women and children. I supported the program of farming activities and training for the families by making water tanks and farming available.
I had a great time too, and I learnt portuguese.
Finally I join with my boyfriend in Arequipa (Perù), where I taught in an Italian Institute of Culture, and english in some schools.
Our next stop was Bolivia (La Paz - Cochabamba - Santa Cruz), where we were volunteering with WWOOF organization. We learned to apply the principles of permaculture, organic farming and bio-construction.
In this world things are changing, and for this reason we have to create an alternative solution. The return to the earth by an eco-sustainable model is something of vital importance, now as always.
