About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a 24 year old student/beginner worker from Vác, Hungary. I'm really into outdoorsy stuff, especially cycling and hiking and of course seeing the world! :))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There is really no better way of understanding new cultures than by interacting with as many locals as possible in the deepest possible level. What better way than seeing their homes and being part of their lives for a couple of days? I can't believe what wonderful times we are living in right now, when such amazing opportunities are open to us, like couchsurfing - that there is a platform for this sort of traveling and also that people trust each other enough and are open enough to welcome friendly strangers to their homes. I'll never stop marveling at how well people can get along when they make up their minds to. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly, I like all sort of music - but I am absolutely crazy for musicals. (Please, don't judge me.)

My favorite books are Kornel Esti by Dezso Kosztolanyi (1936), Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1981), The Door by Magda Szabo (1987) and always - The Brothers Lionheart(1973) - or anything from Astrid Lindgren, really.

If you haven't seen them already, you simply have to check out the following movies: Mustang (2015), Blue is the Warmest Color (2013), Legényanya (1989), and In Bruges (2008).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is not really anything amazing, but I really can't get it off my mind.
I recently went on a youth exchange: a sort of human rights camp, organized jointly by the European Union and the Council of Europe. When I arrived back home I noticed that someone wrote a message on one of the socks I did not end up wearing throughout the whole camp. Like... someone went into my room, opened my suitcase, wrote a short message on one of my socks and then bundled them up again and left?! :D :D :D Crazy shit. The worst thing is, I can only read a couple of words, so I don't even have the slightest hope of finding out who was it.
I hope this story made you chuckle like it made me.

Also, one of the best experiences in my life was cycling from Budapest to Rome back in high school - ever since I've loved using my bike to get everywhere!

Teach, Learn, Share

So... I'm supposed to teach you something here? :/

If you are interested in helping a really relevant cause by just your signature, you can always visit nohatespeechmovement.org really quickly and sign the petition for a European day of no hate speech. If we had a day for no hate speech, we could really use it to spread awareness of the effects of hate speech online and in the offline world - I really important topic, close to my heart.
