I am a primary school teacher from Amsterdam currently traveling through South Asia. I like to stay active, so you will usually find me hiking, surfing, climbing or just wandering around to see what I stumble into. I enjoy meeting people along the way and getting a feel for how locals actually live. I am always up for trying new food, picking up bits of a new language and hearing the stories, traditions and mythology that make a place unique.

Interests

I am into most sports, whether playing or watching. Basketball and snowboarding have always been my favorites, and lately I have been getting into climbing and bouldering. I really want to see a live cricket match while I'm here.

I am also happy with good music, a solid movie or a book that pulls me in. I like cooking, and I like eating even more. I have a soft spot for random facts about history or nature, which is probably the teacher in me coming through.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love different kinds of music, I listen to a lot of classic rock, hip-hop, RnB, techno and trance.

I would love to see a bollywood or malayalam/Tamil movie in the theaters sometime! The last movies I watched and really liked are Chainsaw Man and The teacher who promised the sea.

I read mostly sci-fi, fantasy and non-fiction books. Just finished the Stormlight Archive and Land of the seven rivers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The whole trip was amazing and the excitement of finally seeing Machu Picchu after 4 days of walking made us run the last hour of the trail, we were just in time to see the sunrise from the Sungate which was all worth it.
