About Me

A life loving, adventure seeking, easy going vagabond hailing from Australia who dreams of travelling everywhere and explores with an open mind and spontaneity! I've been in Europe since March 2019 and there is still so many adventures to be had (if I can survive a European winter)!

I've an immense passion for travel and culture and really value what travel has taught me and continues to teach me. To let go of expectations and to appreciate everything, to embrace the unknown, if emergency strikes technology wont save me, the human beings around me will (unless we are connecting through this platform amiright?), to leave the fear behind, connecting with old and young people from entirely different life paths. I am so appreciative for this chance to open my mind.

I am English speaking (which can be embarrassing being in Europe), but have developed very good communication skills without the use of the same language. I understand that communication is not always verbal. We communicate through body language, tone of voice, eye contact and 'vibes', I can communicate with a lot of different people in the strangest of situations and I'd love to share stories about similar experiences.

I’m a quirky, curious, passionate, day-dreamer, adaptable, eager, open-hearted, kind, honest, fireball, uneditied, crazy cat lady, adventurer! With a compassionate, easy going, humble, patient, open-minded and positive attitude! Passionate about travel, social issues, community and international development, non for profits, volunteering, sociology, summer time, eating Asian cuisine, doing things that scare me, art, photography, coffee, taking chances, people, challenges and I have an immense love for the diverse beauty of humanity. I have a growing interest in 'off grid' living and permaculture and desire an alternative lifestyle. For me, life has never been about thinking outside of the box. It’s about realising that box doesn’t actually exist.

I love new things, new people, new places, new experiences!

At ‘home’ I work as a Disability Support Worker which I love and is incredibly rewarding! I am also an avid volunteer at my local Koha Community Cafe. The cafe is a not for profit social enterprise providing a weekly, delicious, wholesome, vegetarian meal open to anyone in the community. Regardless of their capacity to pay, this cafe is inclusive to all. Koha’s mission is to provide a meal that anyone can afford, to provide a space for inclusion, social interaction and community connectedness. Koha remains sustainable through community ownership and involvement. This place changed my life and I’d love to discover and grow a part of other communities doing similar things! The values of the cafe aline with my personal values. I want to give something back to the world. I have a huge desire to contribute to, and support equal opportunities in the development of people around the world.

Most of all I live for the present moment and the adventure! I seek mental and spiritual growth as much as crazy adventure! I am excited and eager to grow involved in local communities, contribute, build friendships, make meaningful connections, to learn and to share the life. Looking forward to meeting you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I have had a couch surfing profile since I was a teenager, these are only now my first couch surfing experiences. It would be a dream come true to connect and immerse myself in this community! I’m excited that finding a place to stay is just the beginning of a Couchsurfing experience. I hope to not just find a couch to crash on (and perhaps a shower if I'm lucky) but to connect with new people, learn about your lifestyle, and discover the unexpected! I want to develop and share friendships. I want to share life with people; to share cultures, ways of life, ideas, conversations, a meal, laughter, good times, experiences and adventures.

I desire an alternative and nomadic life, a life outside of the comfort zone. I'd love to share ideas, stories and experiences related to alternative travel and lifestyles - seeking discomfort, working abroad, hitch hiking, dumpster diving, minimalism, the art of getting by on a shoestring, off grid living, permaculture, and most of all hear your couch surfing experiences!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to have a weekly radio show (at my local community radio station) called 'Pride of the Hour' where we challenged ideas, broke down barriers and stigma's through creating conversations around experiences from the LGBTQIA+ community, equality, religion, culture, feminism, relationships, and shared real stories from real people in the local community. We also rocked out to killer local music.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to find the North Star in the night sky!
I seek to understand other cultures and to learn the economic, political and environmental context of my host culture. To give back to the local economy and consider local information.
I have so much to learn from this grand world! I want to learn about alternative and diverse lifestyles, permaculture and 'off grid' living. As cliche as it is, I would also love nothing more than to learn Spanish!
I'm curious about your life! Let's share the life!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Positive, easy going, humbled, good humored, courteous and accepting company!
Let's experiment in the kitchen together and share a feast! Everyone's got to eat and theres nothing better than sharing stories over a meal.
I'll wash the dishes!
We could discover something new in your own town?
Let's share a beer?
Wine perhaps?
I'm an excellent listener.
Coffee!
I can make breakfast!
I can also give your fur babies copious amounts of pets and love! I have tones of experience in this field.
I could cut or style your hair?
Want to go Geocaching?
Let's go on an adventure!
Let's share the life!
I'll bring some sunshine and infinite smiles to your daily grind!
I can help around your house with daily tasks or any undergoing projects you have if you would like some help! Happy to pitch in, jump on board, tackle tasks and help with whatever needs to be done.
I could sweep your floor?
Get my hands dirty in your garden?
Entertain your kids? I could babysit if you need a night out!
I'm really keen to contribute!
