About Me

I'm currently on a year long sabbatical pursuing long term travel to a number of countries with the 'goal' of delving deeper into life, and also doing a number of adventurous exploits. I'd consider myself an open-minded (and hopefully considerate) .In January 2019, I sailed with a family of 4 from Cape Town via St Helena to Cape Verde for 2 months, before flying to the Netherlands to raise some funds for the rest of my travels. From there it was England and Portugal for family visits, and now I'm currently in Israel for 6 weeks (May 6th to June 13th)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I registered on Couchsurfing in 2013, but never ended up using the platform. I'm now looking to spend time in people's homes as opposed to the usual hostels, as I believe that interactions with the people of a country are able to teach you a lot more than fellow travellers. Practically, the South African Rand is a weak currency so couchsurfing also helps the budget a bit :)

Interests

I'm trying to do at least one run in every place that I'm staying - would be great to join for a 5km/10km run :)
I also try and meditate daily - I use an app called 'Waking Up' which really works for me

  • meditation
