About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling the world, looking on the bright side of life!

ABOUT ME

I'm a young Canadian guy who can't stay at one place any more than 6 months, traveling has been my life. When I'm not in class or at the library I enjoy going out for a run, pranking/social experimenting random people with classmates, going on a weekend trip to the nearest mountains, bombing some hills with my longboard (heard Scotland is hilly!!) and of course working some job to save up cash for my future trips.
I'm going to study abroad in Scotland as part of my research trip. Looking forward to this trip!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to kill time, life is perfectly timed...slowly killing you instead so laugh everyday, smile when you want to cry, love the ones that care for you, forget the ones that don't, hang out with friends whenever possible, try to make a difference because people don't last forever but actions do, never backstab someone cause they will backstab you back, and just live life to the fullest because you only get one life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know what it is like to travel on a budget, the last thing you want to do is to stay at some fancy hotel spending a fortune on a single night!(This is particularly true in NYC). So I'm glad to host people whenever I can, I'm usually staying in NYC during the academic year but I'm often off to Canada to visit friends and family but I can host at the family house too.

Being from a multicultural background I do enjoy discovering new cultures, so having someone over with a different culture is invaluable to me!

Hopefully some nice folks will kindly accept to host me while travelling =)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't couch-surfed too much, well not through this site at least, usually I surf at friends' but looking forward to build up some strangers couch surfing experience =)

Interests

I'm interested in a lot of things but among all of my interests, some have played a consequent role in my life:

-Politics: this is my undergrad major, I am an active citizen in my country and I read the news everyday. Some people say that watching the news will make you feel depressed about the world but I say life isn't all rainbows and lollipops so it is my right to know what is going on in the world and try to make a difference, which brings me to my second interest:

-Humanitarian aid: I believe this is one of the most rewarding experience one can have, just seeing the smiles on people's faces is enough to make your day. I have volunteered for different NGOs and was sent on the field in Turkey and Ghana over the past two years. Being there was a lifetime experience. It made me aware of how lucky I am being born in the West - not having to worry about food and stuff. That's why I'd like to work in this field.

-Running: I'm an avid runner! I just love it! I tend to run every single day although there's some period of forced stop due to overuse injuries, as the doctors like to put it, but eh you don't get something for nothing. I'm currently training for the New York City marathon and I've run 2 half-marathons in the past.

-Astronomy: As a kid I would always look up at the sky during summer nights. The vault of heaven is just an incredible thing and you could spend a lifetime looking at it without seeing more than 5 percent of all the stars out there! Well on a more serious note, I have a telescope and I like to explore the night sky especially over my trips at the mountains.

I have many more interests but you'd have to meet me if you wanna know more, haha jk
