About Me

ABOUT ME

I work as a journalist in Taiwan. I've decided to become a journalist since I was 15, because I enjoy the process of interviewing and writing. After I become a real journalist specialize in environment, land and urban renewal. I pretty enjoy my job, although media environment in Taiwan has become more and more severe.
The reason why I love my job so much is that through this job I can meet new people everyday, most of the time I can experience the positive part which make me also want to be a better person.
I pretty enjoy any chances meeting someone new. I love hearing but also good at sharing.

PHILOSOPHY

everything will end just the way they should be. There's a line in the movie 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' said that if the best hasn't happened means it's not the end, which I always use this sentence to encourage myself that if I'm not satisfied with the result then there must be some space for me to work harder until it end well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

friends of mine traveled Europe, and they met lots of amazing friends through CS. Also I want to try to know more about locals' life, CS would be a great approach.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none through CS, but some experience surfing to friends' couch.

Interests

Most of time I read, listening to music, and watching movies. For outdoor activities, I like bicycling, every weekend have a 10km journey with my dad along the riverside. In summer I also swim. I enjoy walking too, take a walk for 15 to 30 minutes can calm my head and think something clear.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, especially novels, any kinds of novels. But recently I also interested in nature writing and started to read books talking about ecosystem('The Forest Unseen' by David George Haskell) and zoo('The Grand Zoo' by Nadia Ho) Also I read plenty of japanese novels and had been interviewed by NHK to talk about Murakami Haruki (However now I couldn't remember the exact storyline of every pieces..)
I also love watching movies, my favorite directors are Wes Anderson, Wong Kar-Wai, or movies with clear storyline. Theater is one of my favorite, because I went to drama club during university, I know some technique and principle of it and like to watch it (except for dancing, although I watched Cloud Gate several times I still can't understand the meaning of the moves..)
For music my favorite band is Coldplay, also other indie pop and synth pop. Recently I start to enjoy some northern Europe e.g kings of convenience or Flunk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time my friend and I visit korea's Jeju island and stayed at a wooden hostel. One day afternoon the owner ask everyone jump on her van and drive us to a lawn which had many horses. The sun was about to gone and fog was coming out, we passed through horses and climb up to the edge of the mountain to chase the last light of sun. When we climbed up the view was amazing, seeing sunset and fog mixed together, that's the most memorable scene I've ever seen. On the way back to the van we also see some horses running in and out from the fog, which was totally gorgeous.
