About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel the world meeting new people and enjoying life to the fullest!
ABOUT ME
My name is Areidy Beltran. I am a recent graduate from UC Berkeley and have been working as an environmental engineer for the past year. Originally from California, I am very outgoing and love having fun and meeting new people.
(NOTE: By beginning Italian and Portuguese in the language section, I mean that I can pretty much fluently understand both Portuguese and Italian because I know both Spanish and French, but I cannot yet speak either.)
PHILOSOPHY
Everything happens for a reason. Life takes you in unexpected directions all the time, but in the end if you believe in yourself and follow your instincts all will be well. I cherish every moment and take advantage of any opportunity to meet new people, explore different cultures, and learn new things. I simply go with the flow of life and enjoy every moment of it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This is my first time using couchsurfing, but I hope to have a good experience surfing on my upcoming trip to Paris. I will be attending Columbia University's week long Alliance Summer School in collaboration for Science Po Paris. If all goes well, I will continue to use couchsurfing and possibly host people in my apartment back home in California. So I hope I have to have a great couchsurfing experience! :)
Interests
My passions are Dance, Theater, Music, Justice, and learning of different cultures. I love to travel and I believe it is essential for our development as conscious global citizens.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done a few amazing things within the recent years. I hiked on the Matanuska Glacier in Alaska, climbed to the tip of Chinaman's hat island in Hawai'i, jumped onto a moving train in Delhi, and much more!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning of new cultures and sharing that newly found knowledge and experiences with other people. I believe it is important to share what you learn to inspire people to travel and become conscious global citizens. If we ever meet, I'll share my experiences if you're interested in knowing.
