About Me

I am Masters student, working for the University of Aberdeen and living in Scotland for the past 5 years. I am quite new to couchsurfing, but I am eager to get involved more! You I hope you'll find me to be a polite and non-intrusive guest or a generous and welcoming host. Either way, I look forward to meet you :)

Important note: while I myself don't mind last minute requests, unfortunately I happen to live with a couple of flatmates, so I'd need about a weeks notice to inform them that we'll be having guests, thanks for understanding!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the most important thing about couchsurfing is having a great time whether it's me going abroad or whether it's someone coming to stay at my place. It's different with every new person I meet - with some it's great to go out and enjoy the nightlife, with others I might go visit local ruins and explore the history of the place, while some might be keen to simply stay at home with a bunch of friends and a bottle of wine and speak about philosophy, politics, books, games and the meaning of life until 4 AM in the morning... I am very sociable, so if you have any questions - feel free to drop me a message!

Interests

So, where to begin... Books, hiking, history, martial arts, philosophy, wargames & boardgames, geopolitics, cinema, languages, nature, arts, science. I have quite a few and I am always open to try out something new!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably one of the most memorable journeys of my life was the time when I traveled to Kiev, Ukraine in winter 2014 as an independent journalist to cover the Euromaidan events that preceded Ukrainian Revolution. It was the closest I've ever been to where the history was being made. No matter where I'll go or what I'll do, I'll always remember Kiev.
