About Me
Hi! I'm Maria, I'm 25, and I am loving life. I was born and raised in New Jersey but have been living in Florida for the past seven years - I lived in Tampa and earned my bachelors degree and now live in St. Petersburg as a law student. Throughout my life I've been lucky enough to visit places all over the world, and my hunger for travel has never been satisfied. I love doing new things, meeting people, eating, drinking, music, drawing, candles, the beach, gardening, and many more weird and interesting things. I love to learn, smile, and sing! Hoping to make many new friends through couch surfing :)
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the power of knowing people on a personal basis as a way to begin solving the problems of plaguing our world. Taking the time to sit down with someone, discuss your beliefs and background, and laughing with them is the first step to seeing our fellow humans as brothers and sisters rather than enemies. Globalization in a large-scale sense can be damaging to the way we interact with each other (technology is great, but not for social development, in my opinion) but we're lucky to live in a time when so many people from all walks of life are accessible, available, and willing to share culture and experiences. I also believe in volunteering my time, energy, and resources to people in any way I possibly can. I'm always trying to pay it forward, because I know that if I was in a bind, I'd want my fellow humans to uplift me.
