About Me
***I am currently in Honduras so I am not at home!!*** :)
Some facts about my house: I live with my parents and with my brother. They all are very nice, polite and funny, and love to meet new people. I say it in order to show that the situation here may not be adequate to go party all the day and night, but to calmly enjoy the visit :)
ABOUT ME
I like meeting people and speaking about each country and culture. I'm talkative and (I think) I have quite much things to talk about, like gastronomy, people, world, politics, phylosophy, art, dance, plants... I don't like football, nor sports in general; but I love dancing: I have been practicing hip-hop since I was 13, and my current passion are Swing dances, specially lindy hop, balboa, blues and collegiate shag. Another passion I have is plants: I love to see the plants of each part of the world, visit the famous and giant trees, take care of fruit-trees and gardens...
I'm currently doing a master in Cultural Psychology, studying how the urban space shapes people behaviour and particularly spontaneous social nets. Particularly, I'm studying the case of the city of Porto, one of the most amazing cities I've ever known.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to feel satisfied with my life, and I run away from ''resignación''. I don´t want to be bored, I like to have new ideas and to feel interested about something. I think meeting people, places and comunicating is the best way to get that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think that the internet and the globalization has many bad things, as the stronger control of population by goverments, lack of privacy, and other worrying dangers. But, as well, it has extremely new positive opportunities, and I think couchsurfing is one of them. With it, you can communicate with people from any other part of the world, and you can have an inmersion in completely different cultures and have a really complete experience when you travel.
I think that, in an age in which people try to visit other places without getting out of their bubles, just following predefined paths (what would be tourism), couchsurfing allows you to inmerse in a different community, learn about yourself and realize how big is the world.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate, mainly, couchsurfing when I travel, and also with language exchanges. When I have my own flat/house I would like to host surfers and show them my city! And also, when I have more free time I would like to receive more surfers here in Vigo.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Some couchsurfers have come to my house, I have couchsurfed myself and I have always liked the experience. I quite often go to sleep to friends or friends's friends house when I travel, though it may not be reflected in my profile here.
When I show my town to people form other countries, they always show me new aspects of it that I hadn't realized, and that's fantastic. Traveling with couchsurfing, of course, is wonderful, and it's much better than hostels; towns and cities aren't just a phisical scenery of buildings; they are also the people, the atmosphere you breath in them.
Interests
Well, I have some interests... I think that the thing that most appasionates me are plants. My favourite plants are tropical fig trees, but big trees always blow my mind, and many other plants.
Another thing I like is gastronomy. I like discovering new flavours and dishes. I think I have many interests! If you meet me, you will find how is not difficult to find any common theme!

Music, Movies, and Books
Involving music, I like electronic, hip-hop and lately I'm exploring african rooted music such as latin music and jazz. I also like accoustic music, and here, Kings of Convenience are my favourites!
In films, I like Stanley Kubrik and Woody Allen. I think I still have many authors to see! And books... I have particularly enjoyed The Hobbit and La Sonrisa Etrusca (Sampedro), but what I most read is essays of psychology and phylosophy (Freud, Piaget, Jung, Ortega y Gasset, cultural psychology, and currently, urban sciences).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've ever seen are the ficus benghalensis in Cadiz, a group of enormous fig trees.
Turning to something completely different, another thing extremely impressive were the taxus of Sanabria, some millenary trees in the heart of the forest. Yes, it's something completely different! Firsts are flower trees and the second ones aren't!
Teach, Learn, Share
I think that I allways can make people think in new ways about the world and their lifes. I think that is a good point for me to share, and at the same time is someting I can learn from everybody.
I also valorate esthetically my city from a often unexpected standpoint. Vigo has run through different periods in its industrail development, and they all have reflected in the urban shape of the streets and buildings. It is not a famous or politically important city, is just a place were many people live, and this is what the landscape reflects.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a particular knowledge about my city, Vigo, because I know many places and views that often even locals don't know, due to my hobby of riding every single street in the city.
And of course, I'm particularly in touch with the dancing scene in Vigo, so if you like to dance, alone or in couple... You're talking to the right person! (I think)
