Hi! We are Alex and Anna, from Barcelona.

(Alex) Just so you know before we meet, it's not that I'm shy, I just like think a lot and I might seem to wander from time to time. Nice to meet you in case I forget!
I love learning and traveling plus meeting people is a great way to do that. Besides that, I like cinema (like, a lot) and reading. Three years ago I got a motorcycle too and it changed me, boy the freedom it gives you :D

(Anna) I love learning languages and exploring new places and hiking! Whenever I get the chance I talk with someone different. I like kids. In fact, I used to go as monitor on camps and a chaperone of teenagers abroad (Toronto and Victoria in Vancouver Island). Both of us like our city very much so, even if we aren't available for hosting you maybe we can give you nice tips!!

HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Whenever I go someplace I check what events are planned around and try to meet and mingle with people this way. I've met incredible people this way and some of them I've had the luck to cross paths again.

If it suits the trip we'll try to find a host too, We've been greeted to somebody's home a couple of times and we're very grateful. We couldn't host before because we were still studying in our respective parent's house but it's been a few months since we've moved in together and we'd love to experience hosting guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

(Alex) I was in Athens with some mates I met in a work camp, it was New Years Eve and we didn't have any plans. We found some random party in CS, joined them and had a great surreal time.

I also met fantastic people in Berlin when I joined a group there to do some walking in a forest, outskirts of the city. Something so simple turned out to be a sweet memory and one of the best days I spent there.

Another great time I had with Couchsurfing was when I was in Bilbao for a music festival, and on the last day we joined a local group there to cook Indian food. The environment and the people were the best, along with the best meal I probably ever had.

(Anna)
Together with Alex we went to Croatia a few years ago and we were hosted twice: in Zagreb by Seid and in Hvar by Didier. We had wonderful experiences. I wasn't that eager to try it but Alex insisted and it enabled us to meet with locals and get to know the culture.

Interests

(Alex) I love learning! I have a great fondness for Mathematics plus I believe and enjoy trying to be a good citizen of the world; I really like cinema too. I love to travel as well, and my girlfriend Anna is teaching me to how to make the best of it so I'm very grateful to her for that. Seriously, you couldn't find anyone who would kick more ass at organizing a trip.
My dream is make a trip to Ireland by motorcycle some day, up to a town called Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. There's a folk song from there, with the same name of the town. I would love to join a pub there, ask for a pint of beer and start whole-heartedly singing it with everybody there!

(Anna) As Alex mentioned before I LOVE ORGANIZING TRIPS. I can be hours searching for blogs and information without being tired at all!! Whenever I get the chance I open skyscanner and put "flexible destination" to find out flight prices for new destinations. When I was little I used to travel with my family with our cozy caravan and I enjoyed it a lot!

Music, Movies, and Books

(Alex) I love reading, I think it's the best way to immerse oneself in a story and get the most out of it. My favorite books are the Atlas Shrugged, 1984 and the Picture of Dorian Gray.
As for movies, if I had to pick one it would be Feredico Fellini's 'Otto e mezzo' (Eight and half).
Okay, I can't choose only one, I feel compelled to mention Alice in wonderland too (not the books though).
I love a band called 'The National' I always return to. Oh and 'Beirut'! I enjoy classical too. Otherwise I try to hang onto any genre, I like them all.

(Anna) We love watching VOSE films. I can't watch dubbed films, my ears bleed so much! Lucky us just 4' away from our place there's a cinema that projects films in VOSE every Thursday: at least is something! My favourite movie is Star Wars 6. I used to watch Star Wars many times (about two times all of them/year). Three years ago I decided to stop rewatching them over and over again. And my favourite TV series by far: FRIENDS. It doesn't matter how many times I watch it: I always smile and have a whale of a time!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(Alex) It's not specially amazing but I really appreciate for myself how whenever I'm bored and I don't have plans for the day I randomly pick up the motorcycle and make a somewhat long trip. One of those times I ended up in the border with France by the Pyrenees, the road was all icy and people kept looking at me like they hadn't ever seen a biker around there.

(Anna)
- I've visited 7 museums in 4 days in London (and I'm not a Museum freak, it does have an explanation!!)
- I've watched three times a musical named Mar i Cel of the company Dagoll Dagom, a very famous musical based on a play of Angel Guimerà. I also have the film of the play and I have watched it two times too. I can sing all the songs by heart!
- I have an incredibly good memory for lyrics.
