ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Northern Germany, I got the typical characteristics of Hamburg. I am laid back, communicative and very easy to deal with!
As a usual "Hamburger" I love my city and consider it the best and most beautiful city in the world but that does not prevent my drive to discover the world.

Beside my work in the wind energy business, I am a passionate musician (I play the scottish bagpipes) and a curious traveller.

One of my favorite destinations and in my opinion a hidden treasure is Latvia. Untouched nature and beaches, beautiful architecture in Riga, nice food and beer and a huge tradition.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a traveler myself, I know the struggle of finding accommodation, secret hints and a link-up to locals! And therefor I like to help others cure this problem and enjoy a few nice days in Hamburg. My benefit is getting to know new people, other cultures and hopefully keep up my language skills!

Interests

I love music of almost all kind! Currently I am very much into Rock-ish music and Scottish Folk. My favorite bands are Deichkind, the Beatsteaks and the Foo Fighters.

Additionally I am a big supporter of the local football club, the HSV. As we say, I have the rhomb in my heart!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite all time movie is "Forest Gump". A classic movie everyone should watch more than once as you always discover new hints within the movie!
I am also following Game of Thrones and I was a keen watcher of Homeland, House of Cards and Breaking Bad!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have visited the northern parts of Finland in the winter! It was a road trip from Helsinki but to a small town called Ivalo about 1250 km drive north. It was mid December and the temperature dropped to -36 C going north. Up there I did a Husky sledge tour where we could drive the sledge on our own! It was a 4 hour tour and it was probably one of the best things I ever did.
